I was thinking of going despite my cold to Bloomingdale to get SPANX but your post just convinced me not to.

I found the same thing! I thought they would do more for me than they did.. Mine hit at an awkward place about the waist but before the bottom of my boobs, so they aren’t happy staying put and are tending to roll downward to make a weird fabric roll at the waist (definitely counter to what I wanted). Maybe I have a weird ribcage or they work better depending on how a person is proportioned in the torso…

Totally agree with you about spanx! I think they are uncomfortable and created bulges that otherwise weren’t there (and I’m pretty slim). I don’t get it either!

Yea, I didnt notice a dramatic difference, but I think they are SO uncomfortable!!

I don’t have the higher power but I do have the power panties and they are a huge pain to put on (I live in Hawaii so no panty hose here!) The legs on those also create a seam, and, if wearing a dress, the waist does roll down making me head to bathroom to pull it up! I thought it was me and I got the wrong size.

i love spanx. i have the higher power in size b. I believe their sizes are a bit too small. Size b was perfect on me, until I gained some more weight and it was uncomfortable. But I still stand by them and love them. My mom and my sister wear them and they’re much more voluptuous and bigger women and they love them too. My sister wears them everywhere. I love love spanx and I love their lacy tube top I wear under some of my lower cut sweaters.

I hate what pantyhose do for my booty as well, they kind of flatten one of my best assets (pun intended!). I tried on wedding gowns with the idea that it had to look great without any kind of smooshing undergarment. If I chose to wear one, it’d then only look better.

I love my spanx. I got the higher power one that comes just below the boobs and it works well for me. It smooths in all the right places and makes my belly look flatter. Its pretty comfortable too. The only thing that is weird is the little hole to pee in. Its a little awkard so i have just worn it with underware.

I tried on the one that comes just above the waist and it really doesn’t do any good since it seems to separate you into two. I spoke to the salesperson at Nordstrom and see says it does make a difference if you lose or gain weight because its suppose to hold you in, you have to get the correct size.

I’m a Spanx fan, but I know that not everyone is. I really can’t figure out why they seem to work perfectly for some women and not at all for others. I wear either Power Panties or the Higher Power every single day. When I get home from work, I even leave them on under a casual dress or skirt. I find them comfortable, even though they are tight and are definitely control garments. I find that they make me feel pretty and dressed up. My sister hates them and only wears them because she feels she has to, and she gets out of them as soon as she gets home from work. Can’t figure it out.
