About Mrs. Pearl

Surprise, Surprise!

February 14th, 2007 @ 9:25 am by Mrs. Pearl

I found out from Mr. Pearl that he’ll be taking me on a “surprise” trip this weekend. All I know is that we’re leaving Friday and coming back on Sunday. He won’t even tell me what to pack! I guess I have to prepare for a variety of weather occasions (which shouldn’t be too hard when it’s likely somewhere in California).

This is the first time he’s actually planned something that’s a surprise like this. The only reason I know is because I occasionally have work things that pop up on the weekend, so he had to clear it with me first. I digress. I love when he plans stuff like this, particularly because I’m the gushy romantic type and he’s more practical and straight-forward. I kinda feel like my sappiness is rubbing off on him. :) It’s so sweet that he’s trying a little harder to be more romantic in the way that I like — I guess it’s good I had him look at the Five Love Languages!

What things does your SO/FI/DH do that you find romantic?

That’s so cute and sweet of Mr. Pearl to plan something and esp. how it’s still w/in Vday week.

How sweet of him! I hope you have a great time at your secret getaway location :)

My FI likes to plan surprises for me every once in awhile. Sometimes they’re big, like taking me away overnight, and sometimes they’re small, like he will have set the dinner table with a little heart-shaped chocolate at my place setting. Usually they’re something in between - he might have all the candles in the bedroom lit and when I get home and will give me a massage with massage oil, or maybe he will pack a picnic and take me to a nice park for lunch. But he always keeps me on my toes. I never really get over how he’s still so thoughtful even after 3 years together, I never feel like I’m being taken for granted. (Except for when I do his laundry!! But I can live with that.)

ooooh. a surprise trip. how exciting! i hope you two have tons of fun.

my bf does a lot of little things, from sending the random txt message to little cards and notes. this valentines day he sent me 18 roses, one for every month we’ve been apart, to show that he’s always thinking of me even when we aren’t together. god i love that man.

Every morning, my husband packs my lunch for me, then goes outside and scrapes ice off of my car & warms it up for me, so that I don’t have to. He also does the laundry b/c we live on the 3rd floor with no elevator & the laundry room is located in another building. He’s been extra nice since I got pregnant 5 months ago. =)

Laura: LOL@ the laundry part! That’s really sweet of your guy though.

Tea: How romantic! I must be fully into the V-Day spirit because I felt all weepy and emotional after reading that.

JG: See, if I could talk Mr. Pearl into going out in the morning and starting my car, defrosting my windows, and running the heat, I’d LOVE it. Too cute!
