Table For One Please?

February 14th, 2007 @ 3:50 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

It’s Valentine’s Day and I’m all alone. Meh.

Mr. Strawberry is on a business trip in Illinois for the next two weeks, so I have no romantic illusions. We won’t be having a romantic evening out on the town. We’re not even exchanging gifts. Actually, my gift to him is to clean the entire house. Spotless. (I’m not a very good housekeeper!)

Earlier this week, I didn’t think it was that big of deal. But surprisingly, I woke up today, and I was slightly depressed. Meh. That’s what I say.

I did however realize how lucky and happy I am that I do have someone in my life. Just not today! :( So, again, I say…meh.

Miss Strawberry, while I’m not feeling so alone this year, we’re not exchanging gifts either. I bought myself a white-gold plated tree leaf (seriously don’t know which one it is) and promised my gift to him- also cleaning the house!

Just wanted to tell you to have a good day- regardless of stupid Valentine’s day. :D

dont be down… even tho it is v-day… use this time to do something “special”… even tho business trips take out SO away… its also a time i remember how much i miss my guy and a chance to surprise him in ways i wouldnt normally. i once sent sexy/funny photos thru email. its just not funny tho when i later find our he opened a sexy email during a seminar with ppl sitting behind him. he learned the next day to check email in his hotel room b4 going to the seminar. :)

LOL jh!!

i did the same thing with my FI but sent him picture and voice msgs thru phone… i even put “do not open in public” as the title but it was indeed opened in public– on the plane next to 3 other passengers and a stewardess passing by as my picture loaded and my voice boomed thru his phone speaker with my naughty message…

oh well, at least i wasn’t there to be embarassed!! he said he turned red and quickly turned his phone off lol =) he too has learned his lesson to check my mailings in private!

oh btw, miss strawberry–

i hope you use this day to spoil yourself even if your SO is not there to spoil you… a nice dinner, bubble bath with champagne, and a nice corny movie should do the trick!! or get your girlfriends together and do a cocktail night!

I suggest you call your mother right now. For years I took great pride in not having anyone in my life on Valentines Day. I knew it bothered my mother that there was no one special, so I would call her up and say, “Oh hi mom, I was wondering if you could be my valentine again this year?”

it’s alright girls. we have a snowstorm here in NY so whatever plans we would’ve had would’ve turned into sitting at home watching t.v. i had a all girls sushi dinner and chick flick planned for today since my FI and i celebrated this past weekend. but had to cancel cuz of this crazy snow!

Snow has ruined our Valentine’s day too. We only live about 15-20 minutes apart, but we’ve been snowed in at our respective houses for the past two days. As educators it is hard to complain TOO much, but unless they plow his street I’m not going to attempt heading over there and we’ll have to reschedule our cozy night in. I can’t wait until next year when we’ll be snowed in together!

Long distance relationships stink on days like this. Plus, I’ve had to help my staff take delivery, log, and hand out 200+ flowers, baskets, and V-day packages to all the freshman women who live in the residence hall I run. If I hear one more squeal…

I’m alone too, I’m spending a romantic night in with my renal pathology notes (doesn’t that sound hot?). My fiance lives 6 hours away.

I’m going to get through it by reminding myself this will be the last V-day I have to be by myself… hopefully.

Long distance relationships are always difficult, V-day or not.
My hubby is in town, but I’ve forbidden him to buy any vday treats. It’s all so marked up right now, it’s ridiculous.

My boyfriend lives literally 5 miles from me but thanks to this lovely snowstorm in the Northeast, I will not be seeing him for Valentine’s Day.

Miss strawberry i’m in the same boat too. My fiance is away in Denver for work related training. And I’m all the way in NY. So it’s kinda weird to be alone, and yet not alone. Just knowing that I have a Valentine warms my heart. (say cheese)

I’m with you! I watched some cheesy chick flicks… and have ended up crying more than I should! I’m taking hope in the fact that this will be my last Valentine’s Day away from my FI. We’ll just have to make up for it when we see them next!!!
