Chocolate-Free* Valentine’s Day?

February 15th, 2007 @ 10:27 am by Mrs. Daisy

Though I’m (clearly) no Willy Wonka, I decided to make Mr. Daisy some chocolate-covered pretzels to celebrate the auspicious occasion of our first married Valentine’s Day. Using a mold I bought at Michael’s and neither experience nor skill, I produced six pretzel rods for his consumption. I mean, the fella sent me a giant, gorgeous bouquet and is squiring me to dinner. Colored pretzels are the least I can do…! (and I do love the guy, after all.)

* Due to my pathetic attempts at sticking to a post-wedding diet, I asked Mr. Daisy to forego a gift of chocolates this year. so, obviously, I had to go and make chocolates for him. Which I may try–just to make sure they turned out ok…

I miss your posts! Needless to say, I was going through some old ones, and this made me laugh out loud. My culinary skills are quite about the same, and I still “gift” them. He appreciates it, and says it tastes good as long as he closes his eyes.
