He proposed exactly 1 year, 1 month and 6 days after our first date (it's the only part of his proposal speech that I remember), and we're planning long-distance from Los Angeles for a July wedding in my hometown of Monterey, CA. I have a passion for all things "cool, cute and quirky" and I enjoy video games, reading blogs (WeddingBee, trashy celeb, consumer & political) and crafting in my spare time, if I have any!

Google’s Love Message

February 15th, 2007 @ 5:08 am by Mrs. Lemon

You might have noticed that the Google logo was a bit misshapen on account of Valentine’s Day:

Where’s the “L” ???

Turns out that Google was making a reference to the poet Barnabe Googe, whose well known line of prose fits well with the holiday:

“I did but see her passing by, and yet I love her till I die”

As for the “L”… it’s there… it’s the top of the strawberry stem. Not too obvious but all intentionally designed. Well played Google, well played.

I love Google’s logo for the various holidays! Hadn’t even noticed the missing “L” though. I’m sure there’s a psychological explanation about it…sort of like that thing where they say you can still read a word as long as the first and last letters are the same, if the middle letters are all scrambled up.

Anyhooo…I’m ranting! :-P

i thought the stem was the l, but never would have thought that it had a hidden meaning! ;)

Hehe…I kept looking at it last night thinking something looks so odd about the logo today but couldn’t figure it out why. Now I know :oP

Coincidentally enough, I wrote a xanga entry about the ‘L’ as well and my boyfriend was oh so kind enough to point out the stem is the ‘l’.
