Hair-deas

February 17th, 2007 @ 1:38 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Since I’ve got my dress, I’ve got my veil and tiara, now I just need to think of how to do my hair. My hair is a dark, dark brown and has a bit of curl/wave to it. It’s very thick and can hold a curl for awhile, so I’m thinking maybe a little bit of curling to it, a little less ringlet-y but a little more than just waved.

My problem is with my tiara/veil situation. The veil is between elbow length and fingertip in the back, and just below my chest in the front. The tiara has no combs, just metal loops at the end (I think to connect pins and a loose veil?) that I can place towards the front or back. Since I plan on wearing it semi-down (I’ve heard it looks best this way), where should I place my veil and tiara?

Here are a few looks I’m loving (I apologize if these are yours, I got them from the Hair Bio).

My current fave:

This one is lovely:

This is another like that:

Last, Jessica Simpson’s hair from her wedding, with combs:

Unfortunately, none of these brides are wearing veils, so I don’t know what they chose. What do you think? Veil higher on the head, or veil right above the clip in the back?

i vote for veil right above the clip in the back.

I usually see the veil just behind the clip because most brides don’t wear the blusher so their clip shows.

Wow, I’m going for the same look and I will be wearing a veil, too. I’ll have to see if I can find some pictures. I was just going to see what the stylist suggested when I go for a trial.

You say the veil is between elbow length and fingertip in the back but won’t that all depend on where you place the veil? I say you clip the veil depending on where you want the bottom of the veil to fall. Does that make sense? Because if you clip the veil at the top of your head right behind the tiara then the bottom of the veil would be much higher in the back. But if you clip it on the back of your head then the bottom of the veil would be lower. So, I suggest clipping it in your hair and comparing to how you like the way it looks in the back. You may feel that this isn’t important but people will be looking at your back after you pass them while walking down the aisle.

Oh how I wish my hair were long enough to look like that. Bleh.

They all look great to me, so I’m not much help here.

Miss Kiwi, check out the bio SimplyBarefoot on the Knot. Her hair is similar to the ones you’ve posted, and she is wearing a veil.

Jessica Simpson did have a veil on for the actual ceremony. I checked out some pictures and I think the veil was right above the clips. Great choices I hope this helps!

[...] all set, it was going to be half up and half down, with my little tiara placed on top. It had been decided. Until I saw Miss Snow Pea’s hair. Now I’m considering putting all of mine [...]
