Dear Weddingbee,

I was hoping for a few cute ideas for women with short hair. All the hair ideas I see in magazines are for long hair. I have chin length hair, and don’t plan on growing it out just for the wedding. It wouldn’t be me.

So I was hoping that maybe you, the other bees, or readers have run across anything.

Hi Maggie!

You’re right that there aren’t as many choices for short haired gals out there. I thought Mariska Hargitay, who has short hair, looked great on her wedding day.

This is great! I have fairly short hair, and though I’m growing it out, I don’t know if I’ll keep it that way. FI loves my hair short, I just want to give myself options. My hair is also super thin and very straight, which makes things extra hard!

My hair is chin length and my wedding is 3 weeks away, so mine isn’t growing out any more than it already has. And it’s the longest it’s been in 8 years. If I had my old hairdo, I don’t know how I’d manage to hold a veil in place!

There isn’t much out there. Most of the chin length hair I’ve liked on brides was just a nicely brushed and had good volume. Maybe with a flower or a barrette. I’d just look for regular styles you like and go with that. PIB (link) of the hair I plan to have.

Oh, and it seems weird to me that brides grow their hair long so they can pin it up. Yeah, it looks pretty, but it seems counterintuitive.

Wow, I am a post whore tonight, but I wantta say Alison, you’ve venue is amazing. I love the sunroom & tree the best. Pink puffy heart for your ideas. (We’re doing the same thing for our bridesmaids dresses, but in purples, oranges or reds). I’ve got it bookmarked to check in after the wedding.

i’ve been trying to grow my hair long for the past 3 months…and i’m just dying to chop it off! ..but i want the option of having long hair to do an up-do.. because EXACTLY there aren’t that many bridal magazines that show short haircuts. great question!!!
