Cake Cutting Gown Is In!

February 26th, 2007 @ 10:33 am by Mrs. Plum

This past weekend, I went to go pick up my Watters cake-cutting gown. At Asian weddings, a bride typically changes her gown 3 or more times in an evening - a regular wedding gown, a traditional outfit, and a cake-cutting gown. This will be my cake gown. happy

I was very surprised at how quickly it came in - I ordered it approximately 3 or so months ago and it came in 2 weeks ago!

This gown is from Watters Brides new 2007 line.

I love the contrast glacier blue color against the dress! (it’s my wedding color!) And - it fit me perfectly - so no alterations needed - not even a hem! happy (all of these pictures were taken by me without any shoes on)

Review of the bridal salon to come in the next post…..

i didn’t realize we called it a cake-cutting gown. i’ve been referring it to as my farewell gown. i was going to wear either my chi pao or my wedding gown (at the beginning for pics) for cake-cutting. that’s a cute dress on you! i hear those styles are hot now!

very cute, its actually a style I’ve been looking at lately!!!!

I can’t imagine having to buy three gowns, one is expensive enough, though it would be cool to be able to have three different styles then you don’t feel like your missing out on one of those styles you had a hard time choosing between!!!

Wow that’s an amazing gown! It is fantastic!

I’m thinking about having two different ones, even though that’s sort of unheard of here in europe - having two different gowns.. But I have a traditional to wear for the ceremony and dinner, and might fina more causal one for the party :)

Pencils - yes I think I posted about my first fitting a month ago… :) My traditional wedding gown is Kenneth Pool “Aria” and I think I posted about my traditional Vietnamese Ao dai a couple weeks ago :) I’ll definitely do a repost/update whenever my gowns are finished being altered :)

Leesuh- yeahhh i think changing into several gowns throughout the wedding is not really a korean tradition.
