Need More Hair?

February 26th, 2007 @ 1:03 pm by Mrs. Emerald

Sad to say, but my hair is pitifully thin and I barely get a half a handful when I pull it back into a ponytail.

See Exhibit A…ignore the shiny forehead. My hair just kind of sits there and does nothing. Not to mention I consider this a halfway decent hair day. whateva

So I’ve been looking for an easy, temporary and inexpensive way to add some “oomph” to my wedding day hair. I think I want to do a low chignon or a half up half down do, but don’t want my hair to look so thin! I think it’s gonna come down to ordering a set of these babies from Haircomesthebride… the set of 6 pieces is only $60. I’ve never tried hair extensions of any sort, so the fact that these are just little clips makes them a little less scary! Hopefully my stylist will know how to use them (she should, right?!) Hrmm, they are supposedly real human hair, so that kinda gives me the heebies, but oh well. \

Here is their color chart. My hair is darkish brown, not quite black, so I think I will go with the chestnut brown.

Has anyone tried anything similar?

your hair stylist might already have fake hair for a low chignon…that’s what my stylist used inside the bun when we were trying out different styles. the extensions would probably be good for half up/half down.

I used fake hair and I highly recommend it! It made my hair look SO thick.

I think it would be a great option, I would double check with your hairstylist just in case though to make sure she’s used hair extensions!

I browsed this site a little while ago:
http://www.glamourhair.com

the how to section was quite fascinating.

This is definitely an alternative besides getting hair extensions. I tried the clip ons but just letting you know that if you pull on it, it will come off. Also it takes some time to put them on. But definitely give them a try =) Good luck!

do you blow-dry upside down? that helps with volume. i have thin hair too, and a pretty greasy scalp. i use neutrogena anti-residue once or twice a week to suck up all the excess oil that weighs my hair down, and aussie’s “dual personality” shampoo/conditioner during the rest of the week.

also - hairspray is your friend. next time you get your hair styled, ask questions and pay close attention to how to use the brush/blow-dryer.

I just ordered hair extensions from ebay…. they’re not in yet but I’m excited to try them out! Let us know what you think about the haircomesthebride brand.
