The Search For A Cake Topper

February 26th, 2007 @ 2:57 pm by Mrs. Plum

Is over?

The Search For A Cake Topper : wedding cake Caketopper.jpg

I found these cute little blown-glass birdies on etsy (one of my fav sites!) from seller matthewstewart. This is my ghetto rendition of what the cake toppers will look like on top of our cake - of course, the colors will all coordinate on the real thing.

I emailed my cake consultant, Heather, at Frosted Art Bakery & Studio and asked her how much it would be to make those birds out of chocolate; it will cost me an extra $150! 8O I think I’ll go ahead and put my order in for those glass birds today. What do you think?

Your cake is gonna be beautiful. I love the design. And wow $150! Ya, I think the glass ones are a wiser choice. I can’t wait to see photos of your wedding. I love your theme.

Just make sure that they aren’t too heavy for the cake top-I had to change my topper for that reason!

Get the glass ones (as long as they aren’t too heavy)–so cute and you can use them after as decoration in your home.

Its cute! 150 is totally alot for chocolate birds.

Something else I stumbled upon… I’m not sure if you’ve already seen this, but I was looking at some cake decorations by Wendy Kromer and she makes little birds out of sugarpaste.
