Mrs. Kiwi's Picture
Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

Ribbon Wording

March 1st, 2007 @ 5:59 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Thanks to Miss Plum and her 20% off ribbon notice, I’m ordering ribbon for our favor boxes. We plan on getting the same width as Miss Plum (5/8″ right?), but ours will be satin.

I plan on using the scarlet, the antique gold, and the orange. Hopefully the orange isn’t too “orange.” The imprint colors for the orange will be oak brown, for the gold it will be orange, and the scarlet will be metallic gold. Hopefully those all work out okay! What do you think?

Now, I’m stumped on the wording. I’d really like to incorporate the names and date, but should I add something else?

I’m thinking of:

kiwi & m.kiwi 11.3.2007- thank you!

thank you for coming! kiwi & m.kiwi 11.3.2007

thanks! kiwi & m.kiwi 11.3.2007

a gift from kiwi & m.kiwi 11.3.2007

Are there any other ideas? What would you use?

I like your first and fourth options. But wsukarebear’s suggestion of using a short saying would be nice, too.. and perhaps a bit more personal. You could use a short song lyric or phrase that relates to the wedding theme or to you as a couple. “love is sweet” is really cute, especially if the box contains something like candy.

We considered Nov. 3 for our wedding, but we ended up picking Nov. 10 :) It’s nice to know that someone is on the same time schedule.

I ought to apply to blog… I check this site like it’s my job!

… and apparently I rhyme!

for the date, i like when people do ‘established 11.03.2007′ it kind of makes it into a sentence and a joke

Maybe…

“Thanks for coming! kiwi and m.kiwi 11/03/07″

or

“Thanks for sharing our happiness! kiwi and m.kiwi 11/03/07″

I don’t know what the character restrictions are but I like “Thanks…” more than “A gift from…” because it shows your appreciation more, rather than “you came to our wedding and I’m giving this gift to you”.

Let me just say that I had no intention of getting personalized ribbon until today when I saw Miss Plum’s post! Hear: Bahhh! But truly, it is so cute. So, we are giving tree growing kits (www.growatree.com) so I am entertaining the idea of “love grows 9.22.07″ but we are also attempting to pull off a lovebirds theme so now I’m thinking “birds of a feather: katherine and jesse” that looks corney now that i’ve written it out. I really liked the suggestion est. 9.22.07. I’ve never seen that, it’s cute.
