Does anyone else see the mistake?

Totally my fault for not catching it on the proofs….

But you know what? It doesn’t bug me that much.

(surprisingly, it bugged my FI - the guy who didn’t have much opinion on anything during the whole wedding planning process - but he’s the one who insisted it be corrected! I said it doesn’t really matter that much to me - the invites are perfect, the response card, no one really pays attention to that anyhow Invites Are Here! : wedding Silly silly)

As I get closer and closer to the wedding date (4 months out!), I assumed that I would be going all “bridezilla” perfectionist by now, but i’m really not - i’m going with the flow.

I’m ready to get this over with! (well, i’m ready for the day to come anyway) I’m tired of planning!

In the end, you just gotta remember the big picture.

My invites are absolutely beautiful!

They’re unique, great quality, gorgeous design, great price - I couldn’t have asked for more.

I highly recommend Sean of Speak’s Letterpress.

www.speakspress.net

He even graciously offered to reprint my response cards at cost, but I feel kind of bad asking him to reprint something for me after all his hard work.

Anyway, I bet not very many people will even notice the “2006″ - besides, they should know what I mean, right?

I noticed almost instantly, but I wouldn’t say it’s a dealbreaker. Most people will know what you meant, but I think most will also at least notice the mistake. Oh well - I forgot to put a time on my invites, so I had to print up an itinerary. ;)

I’d take him up on his offer–I noticed right away.

I noticed right away, too.

Also, I contacted Sean for a quote and he told me he would not be taking any orders for a while due to some health issues.

Those look great! I don’t think a lot of guests would have noticed…yes, the wedding crazies like all of us might. Anyway, they look great–doesn’t it make it so much more REAL???

And, yay you for going with the flow…that’s what I’ve been doing the whole time and it’s served me well. :-)

I noticed right away and the only reason I’d take him up on it is for posterity reasons. “Mom, Dad, I thought you got married in 2007? Which one is it?”

They’re gorgeous! I didn’t notice until you pointed it out. I’m sure there will be some people who make a big deal out of it and some who don’t even notice. If you’re willing to let it go and laugh about it when people bring it up, it’s not worth the cost.

actually you don’t even have to keep the rsvp card for posterity. as long as the date’s right on the invite, you’re fine.

if the date was off on the invite, then i’d reprint. but the rsvp, you can laugh off.

Well, be prepared to hear about it. All the time. Really — people will let you know. I went to a couple weddings that had typos in various places. The world doesn’t end, but it can be annoying. Think up some funny things to tell in response.

One wedding had a typo in the invite — the poor girl was a copyeditor and never heard the end of it. Another girl’s programs were extensive with a lot of cultural histories and things. They were barely in English there were so many typos. That was just a shame.

My own wedding had a typo in the program — i DIY’ed them and needed to make an emergency change at the last minute. Needless to say I ended up listing “give flowers to mary” twice. What’s funny about that, is that my priest actually forgot to do the “give flowers to Mary” part and actually tacked it on to the very end of the ceremony. Later I realized that I’d placed it twice in the program and it must have screwed him up!

I noticed it right away, but I tend to be very detailed oriented and anal about those things.

I’d take the reprint offer up - why?

so that people don’t call you to tell you there’s a mistake and because you’ve already spent a bunch to make the invitations nice, why not make it perfect?

Also, I bet your printer offered to reprint at cost for you because he should have noticed it as well. I used Travis at Parklife Press and he was amazing; pointing out things that I glanced over, just to make sure I knew and wanted something a particular way. I think that’s what makes someone a great vendor!

I searched the invites for the mistake and totally did not see it until you pointed it out towards the end of your post. Lovely invites!

I didn’t notice it until you pointed it out but I would DEFINITELY take up the offer to fix just for my own sanity!

I has to reallllly look to spot it. I think I would just laugh and send it back. Not a big deal.

I definitely noticed right away, but as long as the actual invitation is correct, everyone should be intelligent enough to figure it out. Besides, the save the date is what comes back to YOU, and a lot of people fill them out without paying much attention. What they keep and save is not only beautiful, but typo-free!

Didn’t notice it until you said something. I bet your guests won’t notice it either so your fiance shouldn’t worry.

They’re lovely invitations, Miss Plum. I doubt anyone will notice. However, I would have had them reprinted, if only because I’m an editor and it would be embarassing for me. We read our proofs over and over and asked others to read them too.
