Mr. Blueberry just crossed a big item of *his* to-do list (which also consists of…suggesting songs to the DJ, taste-testing various reception foods, and showing up the day-of. )! Last night we booked our stay at the Lodge of Four Seasons down at the Lake of the Ozarks. “But Miss Blueberry, weren’t you going to go to Chicago? We even suggested good restaurants and attractions to try!” Yes, mis amigas, that was the plan. But then Mr. Blueberry decided that Chicago wasn’t “honeymoon-y” so he’s going to take me there at some other point in the not-too-distant future, and for our minimoon we’ll be staying here for four nights:

They also have two restaurants, a golf course, and a spa–and best of all, it came highly recommended by freaking everyone! For those who don’t know: In Missouri, “going down to the lake” is a pretty standard long weekend activity for us urban and suburban Kansas Citians/St Louisians. If you own a second home, it’s generally down there. Consequently, in the past couple of years the lake area has grown a lot, offering lots of cool restaurants and activities, as well as a MASSIVE outlet mall. While we’re down there, we plan on having a shopping day, a boating day (I’ve never been on a motorboat!), a hiking day (it IS in the Ozark mountains!), and a fun day (soooo many freaking go-kart and mini golf places! Wahoo!!!). I think it should be a lot of fun But this is just prelude to our January “real” honeymoon cruise!
