About Mrs. Bluebell

Sooo… ummmm…

March 2nd, 2007 @ 4:30 pm by Mrs. Bluebell

I caved.

I bought personalized ribbon too.

I feel a bit sheepish since I only hopped on the personalized ribbon boat after BOTH Miss Plum AND Miss Kiwi blogged about it, but the facts remain:

FACT 1: Personalized ribbon just may be the cutest thing ever.

FACT 2: Namemaker.com’s 20% off coupon (”marchsale”) doesn’t expire until midnight tonight!

So if anyone else is considering personalized ribbon, I highly recommend you take advantage of the sale! I can’t wait to see my ribbon!!! :-)

And in case anyone is curious, we got the 5/8th inch textured ribbon in millenium blue with metallic gold writing in Bodoni Light font. It says “with love, Bluebell & Mr. Bluebell 6.XX.2007″ :-D

I’m starting to cave too….how do you figure out how much you need? We’re tying ribbons on about 250 lollipops - I have no clue how much ribbon to order!

I bought personalized ribbon too - i love sales!!

Miss Bluebell says:

Hehe, yeah that was exactly where I got tripped up too! I just held up a ruler and stared at it for a long time to try to visualize how much I would need for a single favor and then multiplied it by the number of favors. If you’re tying a knot, I’d guess maybe 4 or 5 inches per lollipop, but if you want a bow, maybe almost a foot per? This being from someone who’s really bad at estimating things like this, so take my advice with a grain of salt. :-)

Bebe says:

I was actually thinking about 6 inches per pop, so we are along the same lines.

Thanks for the advice!

Miss Kiwi says:

Hahahaha- sucker!! No, seriously, aren’t the ribbons the coolest thing? I kid you not- if I have any left after the wedding, I am SO wearing them in my hair like a 5 year old!

I just spent about 20 minutes playing with the different options, adding, recustomizing, etc, before I finally closed the window.

I would TOTALLY purchase and take advantage of this sale, but alas, I don’t know yet what my favors are going to be!!!!

votives + personalized ribbons= cute idea

Miss Bluebell says:

Haha, n - I’m not entirely sure either!!!! We have ideas but I just figured chances are we’d need a bit more than 6 inches per favor for the different possibilities, multipled it out and got a few extra yards, and voila! :-D Plus I figure we can always add a bit more later at the non-sale price if we need it.

And come oooon people!!! Feel the peer pressure!!! :-)

Bluebell - my fiance openly HATES weddingbee for this very reason. he has already threatened to throw my laptop out the window or into the ocean if at any point and time during the wedding or the honeymoon he finds me on weddingbee. And you know, I WILL be on weddingbee immediately post wedding, because I wouldn’t want to miss a thing!

Haha. I just bought some ribbon. Suckas. It’s yellow with orange lettering and it says, “Rhiannon and Brandon thank you for coming!” I’m excited. It’ll be done by April, right? *worried face*

I’m almost ready to cave too but I just ordered the favor tags. Favor tags with our names + personalized ribbon = overkill right?
Someone please say “right!”

Pencils says:

I caved too. And we’re not even doing favors! (We’re doing a donation instead and listing it in the program.) My mom talked me into it, she wants me to tie the ribbon around the centerpieces or votives. Or, I thought I could cut it up and stick it on the placecards above the names. I put our first dance song, though, “Love is in the Air.” They have ribbon like that on Romanticflowers.com, but not in my wedding colors. Now I’m wondering if I didn’t get enough. I was pretty annoyed by the huge amount they charged for shipping, though!

Miss Bluebell says:

Yayyyy so many cavers! :-D Hehehe. I’m not entirely sure why this makes me so happy, but it’s AWESOME! RIBBON FOR ALL!!!

And jmnz - Right! :-) I think you’ll be okay. Hehe, but you could always put the ribbon on something eeeeelllllse! ;-)
