Drama: BM Dress Situation

March 5th, 2007 @ 9:05 pm by Mrs. Plum

I ordered dresses that I thought were going to be perfect as our bridesmaid dresses. They fit perfectly on all of the girls - except one. So it’s back to the drawing board.

I’ve been frantically trying to search for another dress, but I can’t find another off-the-rack dress that I like! So I’ve decided to give in and go the order route:

Drama: BM Dress Situation : wedding bridesmaid dress Z785254 z785254

Drama: BM Dress Situation : wedding bridesmaid dress Z78525401 z78525401

I’m going to order them in the Ice Blue above.

Now, where to order them from? RK Bridal quoted me $152, while Perfect Bridal (thanks SparHeel!) quoted me around 20 dollars less! I know RK has a price guarantee, but you have to give them a print copy of the quote I think? Perfect Bridal will only quote over the phone….

Does anyone know of any other reputable online retailers?

They don’t have an ice blue, but we were very happy with the Ann Taylor Celebrations line. The disadvantage is that you can only get them at a limited number of stores (or online if you want to go that route). They were some of the very few BM dresses that didn’t scream “prom.” Because do you really want you BMs looking like they are waiting to see who will be named Homecoming Queen?

netbride.com or houseofbrides.com - unless it’s a jasmine dress - then you’re out of luck :(

try this website

http://www.jaysbridal.net/store/home.php

I just ordered from them too. I got this coupon they sent me 10% off of any $300 order. They’re prices were better than RK and houseofbrides and netbride for my dress. But I’m not sure what designer your dresses are, so i can’t guarantee that they carry them. but give it a try. They have pretty good testimonials.

The coupon code is: BZ93LS
It’s effective until this sunday, 3/11. So good luck shopping! I hope this helps you and other brides!

You can try Dori Anne Veils. She is based in CA but she ships it out, very friendly and has great customer service.

Jessica from Chrissy O bridal. I ordered my wedding dress and BM dresses. Beats lowest price by 6%.

The ann taylor celebrations line is pretty great. There are more styles on-line than in stores. There is a brochure at the stores with all the styles. Some are only available in something they have called “stylefinder” and you wouldn’t know about them unless you looked at the brochure.

Most importantly, you can return these dressese for free (you don’t pay any shipping) so if they don’t fit, there’s no problem. And ann taylor’s sizing is pretty consistent. So if you hate shopping through catalogs, have your girls go to ann taylor and see what size they are there.

As an aside, I’ve rcently started giving ann taylor lots of money and I realized it’s because i don’t have to bring 9 of every style into the dressing room to work out what fits me. I am an 8 there in everything. This on it’s own was incentive for me to buy a bm dress there. I couldn’t handle ordering a dress in a monster size and having it altered to actually fit a human’s body.

I just have to say I love that dress. I think Brooke701’s girls wore it in pink. My gals tried it on but it was over 200 dollars in the store! I think it looks flattering on most girlies. :-)

Yes, these sites are ALL great. I also gave RK a non-print quote from PerfectBridal and they said they’ll just call PerfectBridal to check on it and then honor it.
