Getting Married With Animals

March 7th, 2007 @ 12:18 pm by Mrs. Peach

On my commute I always listen to start 99.1. On the morning show, they always have a section called ¢¢â€š¬…”Johnny’s Incredibly Hard Question¢¢â€š¬? Today’s question went something like this:

Wedding planners say that the trend for finding non-traditional wedding venues will cause a high demand for this location in the near future. What do you think it is?

The answer:

The Zoo!

Yeahhh so for all you folks who are getting married sometime next year and have thought about the zoo, maybe you should start booking fast! Hahaha. It’s kind of an interesting place. Our school once had a sleepover at the zoo when I was in 6th grade. I thought it would be all smelly and gross, but it wasn’t bad at all. We slept in the Gorilla exhibit room and you couldn’t smell a thing. Plus it was cool to be able to look outside and see the Gorillas and read all about them inside.

Actually, I looked into having my wedding at the Georgia Aquarium (the biggest aquarium in the world!!), but it was out of our budget for a Saturday evening wedding and there were some logistical problems. But, the price was not as bad as I thought it would be, even if the food is catered by Wolfgang Puck! (Yeah, that’s GA prices for you! ^_^ woohoo!) But yeah, the room looked so beautiful! One side of the wall has a private viewing window into one of the aquariums. Sigghhhh. I totally recommend it to any Atlanta bride who is still searching for a location!

Wow! Getting married at the Georgia Aquarium, now that would be awesome! I am dying to just visit the aquarium. NJ/PA brides can get married at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden NJ - there’s several room options and setups available. I think the shark tank and tube might be the coolest place to have a reception. :)

I’m having my reception at the Oklahoma Aquarium. I hope it’s really neat!

uh… weather warm enough to enjoy the zoo = stinky animals. weather cold enough so you can’t smell everything = no animals in sight, so why are you at the zoo?

I can happily post that my wedding is going to be a zoo. actually the san diego wild animal park… which is more an open habitat then typical zoo. It is next month and I am not worried about stinky animals or them hiding. It is one of our favorite places to visit, and we are happy to sharing that with our guests. The venue is beautiful and to top it off… the $$$ we are spending is going to a non-profit organization instead of the CEO of some hotel group.
