About Mrs. Bird of Paradise

Newlyweds

March 7th, 2007 @ 9:32 am by Mrs. Bird of Paradise

Not too long after our wedding, Mr. Bird of Paradise and I took super fun newlywed pics. Kenny from Kenny Champagne Photography so kindly offered to take our pics for free. Love that. Here’s how it went down.

We arrived at Rip Van Winkle Gardens and changed into our wedding attire, complete with bout and bouquet. We were able to truly see each other as we did the day of our wedding, but without all the chaos that the day brought. This time we were abe to take it all in. Mr. BOP looked so sharp in his tuxedo, and I felt amazing in my dress. It was just us and a camera. Oh, and our little doggie too. Hehee.

I truly recommend taking NW pics. It was definitely memorable and fun, and we got some amazing shots. Here’s a few from the shoot.

Those are great photos, Mrs. BOP! All the photos from your wedding were also gorgeous!

We’ll be taking NW photos too - but immediately after the reception (which will end promptly at 3:30). As we’re getting married in my home town (2,000 miles from where we currently live), I knew that NW photos wouldn’t take place at any other time, so we’re hitting the beach with our photographer right after.

That is a great idea! You can get more milage out of your wedding clothes, and you can take your time and take some nice pictures without the chaos of wedding day. I’ll definitely be doing this!

Great photos!
Did you decide to do this because you were not as happy as possible with the wedding pics? (I thought they were fab, along with your bridal pics i remember seeing…)

One more thing Mrs. BOP–
Did you photographer create your album for you?
I had an amazing photographer, but an album with him would cost about 3K.
I think I want to have my photos printed by another high-quality professional printer, and then make my own album with a Renaissance album….what brand is yours? Thanks!!

mary - no, we took them b/c another photographer offered. i cleared it with our wedding photographer, who also did our e-pics and my bridal pics. we LOVED all of those!

our wedding photographer does offer albums through leathercraftsmen.com

miss peach - yep, our little yorkie!! we were SOO happy to take pics with him since it was logistically impossible to do so on the wedding day.

That first picture is just dreamy. Love, love, love the photos. We are planning a NW session as well since I don’t want to take time out of the day of the wedding to do a photo shot.

kat - i did my makeup for the wedding as well as all of my photoshoots. the hair was done professional for the wedding, wedding pics and NW pics. BUT the day of the NW shoot… my hair ended up getting caught on the hanger of the dress… and i had to redo it by myslelf. in a panic, i called my grandma over to do the bun part. so glad it looks ok in the pics.

Great pics! I am working on taking day-after pics with our photographer, hopefully for free/portfolio building. I would not be doing the hair up/veil/bouquet business (well, I guess I could drag my bouquet along)–definitely want fun pics in a more casual setting.

I love relaxing photos in a setting that B&G’s probably couldn’t make it to on the wedding day–it’s such a fun idea.

Check out MrsHoya and Mrs.Kennedy for day-afters on the knot!

Hey, I never knew there was a name for this! - we’re doing NW photos on our first wedding anniversary - to go to all the special places for us that we just can’t get shots at during the wedding itself.

I figured it was a good way to get to dress up again, mark our anniversary, and keep me at my wedding weight for the first year ;)
