Bridesmaids Again

March 8th, 2007 @ 5:32 pm by Mrs. Plum

So, after all that drama, my BMs went to go get fitted yesterday and went this morning to finalize the details.

Not one, but two of my BMs called me to complain. This is how the conversation went (both times):

BM: I went to go get measured but I’m sooo upset!

Me: Why? What happened?

BM: I love the dress - it’s so cute! BUTTTT the lady who measured me said I’m a 0 all around, but I could be a 2 around the hips!!! I’m a total fatty!!

Me: OMG are you kidding me?! Shut up! You are so ridiculous - I would KILL to be a 0 “borderline 2″. <insert rolling my eyes here>

BM: Umm.. I guess so….. But I told her to just order the 0. Apparently Saeyoung didn’t start making 0’s until recently

Me: What a problem to have. silly02 Can I go back to work now?

BM: Ok - bye!

Geez.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
I’m a 18 going on a 16.

When thin girls say things like that, it makes me want to pull out my hair.

gosh…i hope BMs will give you a “break”…i just wish they make dresses based on your own measurements rather than a specified size chart…since you wont get the dress for a few months…gosh…sometime doesn’t it feel better if they all bail out on you? maybe not…tell us more of your story…

I hate it when girls say “Im fat” and they are a sign ZERO. Thats annoying.

is your bridesmaid prepubescent? as in.. like 8 years old? then, no, she is not allowed to whine about being a size 2 and “fat”. How annoying.

people that small shouldn’t be allowed to complain. It makes me so mad.

Oh my gosh, that is so annoying. Sounded like she was trying to rub it in your face or something. Besides, I think that sounded like a compliment more than anything. That means she has nice, full hips.

She should have ordered in a 2 because you should order based on your largest measurement; then the rest can be altered down to a size 0. Instead it will probably end up being hard for her hips to wiggle into, and it will be tricky fixing that :P

Unless its A line - then there is generally a bit of wiggle room on the hip measurement and you should buy based on waist/bust. Should be fine unless its mermaid/fitted thru hips.

I’m afraid I’m going to get comments like that from my bridesmaids — a few of them are super skinny, and think that they are fat. If any of them pull a “I have to get a size TWO and I’m so fat” crap on me, I am going to let them have it. Please. Especially when size 12 me is Ms. Healthy and religiously go to the gym and size 2 them pig out on junk food all the time.

wow. the last time i was a 0 was like… 10 years ago. lol.

and yes. wedding/bm dresses do run small. so she might want not worry about vanity and get a 2 or start working out her hibs because… i ordered a dress for my cousin’s wedding thinking i’d fit it cuz it was the right size - well it turned out to be to small and when dieting still didn’t quite get me into the dress.. i had to rush to find another one (luckily she wasn’t picky on the style)

but hey - it also may all be ok! i don’t know your friend. Heh.

I was a 0 once. Does it count if there was a 1 infront of it?

I’m not defending this size 0-2 bridesmaid, but I was about the same size as her before my wedding… Anyway, at work my engagement ring kept sliding off my finger and I was worried it may just fall off one day and I would lose it. My coworker asked me what my ring size was and I made the mistake of telling her and she just blew up….I mean, it was clear the topic of my weight and size was just off limits especially when she was like twice my size…so, I know when to keep my mouth shut…sometimes, i slip up…
