About Mrs. Orchid

Now I know it’s right, from the moment I wake up till deep in the night
There’s nowhere on earth that I’d rather be than holding you tenderly…

Any Foreigner fans? Hellooo?? Okay, maybe not. Do I sound a bit obsessive and corny? Okay, yeah maybe, but I’m just soooooooooooo excited!!~ The bridal shop called me this morning and my dress is in!!! I couldn’t stop thinking about it all morning!

My wedding isn’t until September, so my baby’s in hella early, but better early than later!~ I’m going to look on my calendar this week and schedule my 1st fitting in August (which seems like eons away at this point), but that would give me a good time frame.

I think the time frame for fittings is 4-6 weeks before the actual wedding date. But I don’t think I can wait that long. I want to see her like, NOW. Do you think the bridal shop will think I’m insane that I want to go in and see her? Maybe just sit in the dressing room with it, fondling and sniffing it to my heart’s content? Snarling at anyone that comes within 6 ft of her, while hunched in the corner petting and caressing it muttering, “..prrecciousssssss, I lovesss my preccciousssssss….”

Did I mention that I’m sooooo exicted! blush

GO VISIT IT!!!!! My dress came in a couple weeks ago for my June wedding, and when they called to tell me they said I couldn’t schedule a fitting this early, but I could schedule a “visitation.” Hehehehe. But they let me try it on and examine it, and they pinned it and I wore my shoes and tried on different veils, etc! And everyone was like “are you here for a fitting?” and I said ummmm no, just seeing my dress? And they were like “oh okay, just for a visitation!” and seemed to think it was totally normal. So GO VISIT!!!!! :-)

Actually, my wedding is June 2nd, and my seamstress was very glad that I had my first fitting last week (90 days out)… she had quite a bit to do on my dress to make it look flawless to my body. She has already scheduled my fitting for the first week of April, and then we will have a final some time in May…

Foreigner…ROCK ON!

Same as alisaandthor, I am going for my final fitting at the end of this month and my wedding is in May. My seamstress was happy to do it because she gets very busy in May and said that I can come back about a week or two before the wedding, try it on once more and she’ll fix anything that may have changed. My weight doesn’t fluctuate at all, so I’m not worried about anything changing. She’ll also press it for me one last time! I

My dress is in this week too & my wedding is also in September. The shop said I should come in to check the dress and make sure everything is right. I don’t think anyone will look at you strangely if you want to visit it.

I would definitely check it out now. When a friend of mine went to see her dress for the first time, the MOB & MOG discovered that the dress was made from 2 different colors of fabric (a different batch of dye or something), so they had to re-order the dress. If something was wrong with the construction, waiting until August might cause some undue stress. GL!
