B&B Heaven

March 13th, 2007 @ 8:26 am by Ms Broccoli

I think we may have found our mini-moon destination! A quaint little four guest-bedroom B&B in Camden, Maine. It’s still in town, but located on a quieter street (not that there will be much traffic there in April). The other plus is that the owners have avoided decorating the room in Victorian/Laura Ashley motifs—Mr. Broccoli despises both (and I have to admit, I get a little freaked out in places like that too).

This room, called the Copper Beech Suite, is the largest one in the B&B, has a stove fireplace, a little sitting area, and a bathroom complete with a 2-person jacuzzi tub. Oooh-la-la! Not bad for $165 a night!

Anyone else taking a mini-moon? If so, where to and what made you decide to wait before going on the “all-important, real honeymoon” ? (as I’ve heard it called)

That looks great and it is a reasonable price. I also get turned off by the Victorian motifs.

We are getting married in Costa Rica and are going to mini-moon in Panama for two nights at Punta Caracol (http://puntacaracol.com/). They are over-the-water bungalows and costing a lot more than what we are paying for our wedding lodging, but what the heck. Our real honeymoon will be several months after the wedding. We chose these bungalows because the location is Panama is really close to our Punta Uva location in Costa Rica. Besides our week in Costa Rica will not be at an all-inclusive or resort so we realize we will need to be very involved with our guests during their visit. The mini-moon will be a chance to decompress after what will be a busy week.

We’ll be taking a mini-moon as well - somewhere local I think. My fiancÆ’© is a high school teacher, and I’ll still have a month to go before my college graduation, so taking off a whole week for a honeymoon is out of the question.

We were going to take a mini-moon. Mainly because we are getting married in mid September and I wanted to do something tropical in the carribean. But that time of the year is hurricane season. We thought we might do wine country in Cali. But now we found something awesome and pretty safe from hurricanes…Los Cabos, Mexico. A friend highly recommended Las Ventanas and we are totally sold on it.

We are doing a mini-moon. I’m in medical school and only have a week off the whole year, and we’re getting married the second weekend in that week off. I have to be back to school 3 days after our wedding. Hopefully that will leave us time to either go to Chicago for a couple nights or a cabin, or maybe we’ll just go to a hotel in town that has a pool to recuperate.

We are also paying for the entire wedding ourselves, and both of us are students. It’ll take our bank accounts a while to recover. Our “honeymoon” might turn into a first or second anniversary vacation.

We will be doing a mini-moon of some sort. We are paying for the wedding (end of August) - and we are both grad students (budget = not too big). Going on a real honeymoon in December will allow us more time to save up, and we will appreciate the warm beachy weather more in December than in August!
