A while back I posted about the luncheon/tea that I am hosting for my bridesmaids the weekend of the wedding. While watching Martha Stewart today, I got another great idea for making the roses for the napkin rings.
Martha had Cassie Chappell from Mommy Makes Roses on today. She makes these fabulous roses out of coffee filters! Yes, that is a fake rose out of coffee filters!

I hope to make some this weekend and will take plenty of pictures to see if they are as easy as she makes it look!

She’s obviously very talented. Her work is amazing and her roses sell at a minimum of $75 apiece on her site.
I have been trying to make them. They are not as easy as she says. Well until you get good at it. Each time I do one I find a better way to impove what im doing so I have done 5 so far… and still working on makeing them look like hers. lol
Please…I need someone to make a c.d. of the making of these coffee filter roses! I will gladly pay someone in advance for this help. I am an artist and I have adopted a low income nursing home and I teach them how to make certain things and then we sell them at flea markets. This empowers them and gives them a little spending money. I bought the kit and the directions are so hard to follow. I need to be able to stop and start a c.d. to be able to show them how to do this and that on this project. I have written the lady at the mommy makes roses and she was no help and martha’s company wasn’t either. As an artist living in Mississippi still attempting to regain my life after loosing everything; I can only afford dial up and it is hard to see the video on martha’s website. If anyone that can make these would make a c.d. for me I will certainly pay you in advance, you can call me at 601-825-3424, my name is Daniel. I just want to be able to help these lovely elderly continue with a prideful walk and independence. So many are forgotten; please help.
So far I am on “successful rose” number 9. There are about 5 in the trash can next to me. They are a bit tricky, but I’m committed at this point. Each one take me about 7 minutes. I am using “natural” colored filters and not painting them. Here is the first rose I made that sort of looked like a rose
