Don’t Eat Me… Yet!

March 14th, 2007 @ 2:01 pm by Mrs. Peach

As I mentioned before, we are having a cupake tree as our wedding cake. Upon talking to our reception director, it seems that we have to be careful because some people mistaken them as dessert and take them before the “cake cutting.” She suggested I make a sign and put it in a nice frame next to the cupcake tree to inform guests to wait.

I was thinking, maybe I can write up a cute 2 line poem. Oh, I dunno… something like…

You might be tempted to take…

but please wait ’till we cut the cake!

What do you think? too corny? haha. Anyone feeling creative and wanna suggest something else?

very cute…I’m doing the cupcake thing too and hadn’t thought of that problem - do you mind if I steal the idea?

I’ve got a 4-line one!

“These cupcakes are yummy,
We hope you saved room!
But please wait ’til one’s cut,
By the bride and groom!”

One more!

“An old famous queen said,
‘Let them eat cake!’
And after the cutting,
We’ll let you partake!”

Sorry, feeling silly. :)

We had a cupcake tree at our wedding. One of the reasons I wanted to have cupcakes (other than I just love them and they were much less expensive than a “wedding” cake) was so the children didn’t have to wait for us to cut the cake. They could have one whenever they wanted. Adults too for that matter! Then again, we didn’t really have a cake cutting moment. While the band was on a break and the toasts had been made I looked at my husband and said, “Should we do anything with the cupcakes?” So we each took the top cupcakes, fed each other a bite then ate our cupcakes. I didn’t think anyone saw us but the photographer (bless her heart) did get a picture. And I think that was the only food I ate at my reception!
