Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

Lucy… I’m Home!

March 16th, 2007 @ 5:25 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

There’s just something about weddings from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. If I had been a little bit smaller, I would have definitely chosen to get a vintage wedding dress. If you’d also like to experience the romantic look of a vintage dress, don’t look any further - Posh Girl Vintage has a line of vintage prom/wedding dresses available for purchase!

I especially love this one: 1950′S Cream Lace Velvet Dress for $275.00. In a size 3/4/5.

Or this lavender lace colored party dress. I would love to wear this to a rehearsal dinner or backyard bbq! It comes in a size 6, and is $285.00.

And this is a white tulle and silver tea-length fancy dress dream. It just yells out “I Love Lucy” to me. It’s in fantastic condition, size 3/4 at $455.00.

It seems like the dresses go fast, so keep an eye on Posh Girl Vintage! They also have lingerie, regular clothing, men’s items, and accessories! It’s my new favorite place!

I love vintage dresses as well. I am considering one for our RD. Martha Stewart Wedding’s have featured some vintage inspired dress photo shoots. They are so pretty.

I want to be small :( Vintage 4/6’s fit but look like a 2P on me… and the dresses are shorter than a mini skirt.
Thank god for someone thinking a model should be 5′11, or else I’d be wearing paper bags.

There are quite a few bridesmaids dresses that fit into some of these styles, if you’re a bit larger and interested in doing something like this for a wedding dress.

Bridalwave blogged about this find a couple days ago and it’s such a great find. I love the styles. I found another of their dresses that I would LOVE for my bridesmaids to wear. http://www.poshgirlvintage.com/dresses/ceilChapman/ceilChapman.html
Anyone know where I can find a style like this in a “modern” store or how much it would cost to get made for 3 girls? I’ve been looking a long time for a feminine, stylish, non-matronly bridesmaid dress with sleeves (and Latter Day Saints dresses don’t fit this bill)

Does anyone know where I can find similar dresses but in bigger sizes? They don’t have to be vintage.

Are there any stores/brands that make this style dress- or something similar?
