About Beehive

Beehive

March 19th, 2007 @ 5:51 pm by Beehive

In today’s hive:

  1. Bella is looking for a reputable place to get shoes dyed.
  2. kandaceandjason is looking for a florist in the DFW area, preferably someone who works out of their home since she only needs wedding party flowers. Would it be too ambitious to try to do them herself?
  3. Beth is looking for a minister in the AL/TN/GA tri-state area.
  4. canadiangirly is wondering if anyone had plumerias as their wedding flowers, and if so where did you order them and how much did they cost? They don’t grow in Canada so she’s wondering if anyone has imported flowers? Concerns? Alternatives?
  5. Becky is planning her friend’s bachelorette party, but the bride doesn’t like clubs. Any fun ideas for a Friday night in Seattle?
  6. Bride08 is looking for stationery store recommendations in St. Louis & Chicago besides Papersource.
  7. fishgal is looking for a place in CA that can print her DIY invites fast and nice. Also how do you know what to register for?
  8. Ricci is looking for an online store to buy colored A7 mailer boxes besides papermart and papersource but is having no luck. Any suggestions?
  9. Heather is looking for locations in/outside NYC that are rustic and charming like a barn, b&b, or farmhouse that accomodates 90 guests. Any suggestions?

Bella - If you’re located in NYC, there is a place called Shoe Service. It was recommended by my bridal salon, which is quite reputable. They are located 15 W55th Street.

Becky,

My sister is just like your friend and doesn’t enjoying clubbing. So we threw her a “SPA-rty” where we hired a mobile spa service to come to us. It was a hit!!! Everyone loved it! Or you can ask a small spa to reserve the entire place for the night or maybe they have a small room for private parties.

Becky,

My girlfriends took me to Purple for wine and cheese tasting and it was fabulous. We had a great time without the dark corners of the Seattle club scene.

5. Becky- How about the stipper class, they have one in west seattle at urban fitness. Really fun! But if the group is too modest and you just want to do dinner and drinks try the starlite lounge on 1st.

Canadiangirly~I posted before but I guess it was too late. Plumerias don’t hold up well after the have been picked. The petals will start to brown. If you’re going to pin them in your hair you may want to have several on hand and switch them throughout the day. You could also try silk (but I have seen any that look realistic) or the clay/foam type if you’re just looking for singles. Those look great - very real.

you ladies are always ever so helpful…

I’m looking for an online site to buy colored A7 mailer boxes besides papermart.com and paper-source. I’m googling and having no luck!

Thanks!

I am looking for recommeded locations in/outside of NYC that are rustic and charming. I’m thinking barn, b&b, farmhouse.. that sort of thing. Something to accommodate about 90 guests. Any thoughts?

i have a question for the beehive. i just DIY-ed my unity candle w/ self adhesive jewel stickers, and it looks awesome. but the only problem is that the jewel stickers come off pretty easily. does anyone know if there’s some sort of setting spray that i can spray on the candle to make sure that the jewels don’t fall off? thanks!

Bride08,
By Alice Boutique in St. Louis has a lot of stationary. It’s in the St. Louis Mills Mall but don’t let that scare you away. They do so many types of things there and they did a bid for me on the spot with their samples and just today they sent me a full detailed copy of the costs and sizes in case I wish to use them.

Their website is very plain but if you search for their name on Google, it should give you contact info.

I’m looking for ideas on a wedding gift for my best friend. It will most likely be a group gift from the bridal party. What’s the best wedding gift that you have recieved? or have given to a friend?

The Inn at the Round Barn in Waitsfield Vt. It would allow you a get away style wedding.

Heather - we’re getting married at west park winery in the Hudson Valley. There are a lot of places within 2 hours driving distance of NYC that would fit your bill. check out http://www.hudsonvalleyweddings.com for some ideas. good luck!

Question: I’m trying to get a feel of what kind e-ring I’d like (per my bf’s request for help), and truth is I don’t really know, and I feel weird about picking it out…but obviously I want to *LOVE* it. I like princess cut and white gold, is that enough to get him started?…should I ask for a solitaire and “upgrade” later? any suggestions for some good non-jewelry store resources I can browse for setting ideas? or thoughts about picking out your own ring? Thanks!
