DIY Pocketfold Mock-Up

March 19th, 2007 @ 1:06 pm by Mrs. Hibiscus

I wrote earlier about the awesome experience I had with Cards and Pockets and Paper and More. Well, here is the fruit of my DIY labor: my ghetto invitation mock-up. The inserts are supposeed to be on the same light blue linen paper as the invitation and of course the cuts will be straight (duh!). Also, the fonts on the inserts will be the same boldness. I was up late making this so it’s quite….experimental.

My fiance loved them though so that’s all that matters. Well, for roughly $3.50 for a pocketfold invite, he better love them, me and my hard work on Adobe Illustrator. :) I’ll post the final invite within the next month, complete with tiny rhinestones in the centers of the 3 flowers on the invitation. I will also post how I made them along with costs at that time. Let me know what you think of them!

Gorgeous! And rhinestones will be a lovely touch.

I think the font is Scriptina.

Yup, the font is Scriptina. I’m using that font, too. :-)

You did a great job, Miss Hibiscus! I can’t wait to see the final product. Did you DIY the map, too?

Miss H, you have totally saved me! I have been looking for a concept like this for a while and I am just in love with it. I ordered my sample Signature pocketfolder last night and I’m gearing up to buy the rest of the paper goods at PaperSource. I’ll be putting my polka dot spin on it though. Question: did you use something to hold the folder together? A snap? Velcro? I love the wrap around the invite with the seal, but I’m wondering if anything else was added under the seal to keep the invite folder closed. Any other tips you can give me with this design would be much appreciated! Thanks for the inspiration!
