While we were in KC for spring break I gave Alice (our venue’s owner) a call just to say “hi” (because she’s really awesome!). She told us that they’d recently repainted the ballroom, and asked us to come out the next day to take a look.

Here’s how the ballroom looked before:

Not bad, but nothing to write home about, either. So here’s how it looks now:

These pictures were taken from the doorway, which is pretty wide.

To decorate this room, we’re going to remove the swag curtains that are currently above the windows and string our white twinkle lights and cobalt tulle all across the room. There’s also that large candle holder thingy in the fireplace, and we’re going to fill that with votives. The DJ will be set up to the left of the doorway, and surrounding the perimeter of the room we’ll have bistro/cocktail tables and chairs. I think the room’s soft new color will complement our decorations really well, and allow them (and us!) to really stand out.
