This is the BEST part of wedding planning. Trying out all the food! I met with Varlene at Food Attitude to pick out our wedding cake. Varlene is extremely sweet and and pleasant to work with. I have emailed her several times and she is on top of everything. Tastings are free and by appointment only.
(the tasting was the morning after the Wedding Bee 1-yr Anniversary party)
ONE: Don’t come in hungover.
TWO: If you’re lactose intolerant, don’t come in hung over and without breakfast.
THREE: Chow down!

I asked Varlene if she minded that I took some photos of the cakes. She replied, “Of course. It’s YOUR day!” Ahhh music to my ears.

They have a variety of designs for you to chose from at a set price per slice. They are all very pretty and you can customize them by color and flavors in anyway you want without an additional charge. The cakes are covered with a thin layer of fondant giving it that “finished” look but there is icing under the fondant. They are one of the few places in the city that do cakes with fondant in one price. None of that, nickle and diming you for an extra flower or designs. My favorite is the Vanilla Pear Caramel and the Tiramisu.

This is the cake design that I chose. 4 tiers with off white icing and piping. Then we decided to do light pink flowers and spray the leaves with gold. The flourishes will be piped in gold which will match my wedding invitations. I think it will look really cool. Varlene makes new cake displays every month. She said she’ll consider making my cake as one of the display cakes because she didn’t have a gold sample. Yippeee!!!!
You chose a beautiful design..simple yet elegant.
