About Mrs. Lily

One of my first posts on Weddingbee (my third to be exact) was about how I booked my photographer, Sergio, before I had the wedding date set. It sounds completely loco, and is sooooo not my typical type A personality, but let me tell you when you see his pictures you will know why! His work is just stunning. They capture so much emotion and bring out the best in everyone. Before I give you more details, aren’t these photos breathtaking!?:

It seems like the heavens aligned perfectly since Sergio is based in my hometown of Tucson, but honestly I might have booked him even if I was having my wedding elsewhere. I’ve combed through the snaps on his website (I just can’t tear myself away — it’s a sickness) and he travels everywhere. Vegas, Playa del Carmen, San Fran, Ohio — he basically traipses around the globe making people feel awesome on their wedding day.

I asked him how much extra I would have had to pay had we decided to do the wedding in New York. He said that for out of town weddings he gives clients the options of making all the arrangements and paying for flights, rental car, and hotel or they pay a flat fee that he calculates. He offers out of town weddings a day-after session too, where they go to a nice location and trash the dress (if the bride is OK with it). I so so so wish we could do a day after session in the desert (without trashing the dress since it’s a family heirloom), but sadly we’re leaving the very next day. Boo. Thumbs down.

I think I’ve raved enough, and you ladies get the idea of how psyched I am for my pics. Let me just leave you with a few more shots that are just incredible (although really it was impossible to choose!).

Those are some amazing photos! I understand why you wanted him. We’re lucky enough to have *three* talented professional-level photographers (my BiL, a pair of good friends, and my boss, who used to be a pro photographer before inheriting her dad’s business) who want to shoot our wedding, so we’re not paying anything. We’re also leaving the day after our wedding for the honeymoon. However, I’m reserving the right to hire Angelica Glass, a great New York photographer, to do a trash-the-dress session if I’m not absolutely thrilled with my wedding portraits (not the record of the day, but the portraits of us.) I’d love her to do it at Montauk Point, on the beach, with the lighthouse in the background. We’ll see!

Your photos will be amazing.
Could you do the “trash the dress” with a cheaper dress, or just a basic long, white dress?
If he offers that, you should definitely take advantage of it.

Pfmin– that’s a great idea to do a “trash the dress” shoot with a different dress. If I was ging to be in town long enough, I would totally do that!
