He proposed exactly 1 year, 1 month and 6 days after our first date (it's the only part of his proposal speech that I remember), and we're planning long-distance from Los Angeles for a July wedding in my hometown of Monterey, CA. Dressing The Bearer

March 27th, 2007 @ 1:39 pm by Mrs. Lemon

You know you’re in a wedding-planning-daze when you can’t walk into a Target without walking out with “something” … and today my adorable nephew/ring bearer was the lucky recipient of my purchases. We found these two outfits for the ridiculous price of $16.99 and walked out with both. In his own words, he looked “really sharp” in both outfits.

Outfit #1: Blue Seersucker Suit

I fell in love with the J.Crew outfit, but at $150, it’s just a wee bit of a silly splurge. But this version works out just as well! The jacket fits now, so as long as he doesn’t grow too much, we’ll be fine!

Outfit #2: Sweater Vest & Seersucker Shorts

Both are really cute… so perhaps he can wear one to the rehearsal and the other to the wedding? We can decide all that later since we’ve got both in hand. Now we just have to find some argyle socks and cute shoes and we’re all set! Well, unless he decides to grow out of them. These are 5T’s and he just might grow out of that size as he gets closer to his 4th birthday… which is tragic since that’s the largest size they make. I’ll just need to make sure nana & poppa stop feeding him vegetables when they babysit! :)

What kind of shirt would a little boy wear with a seersucker suit for the wedding?

We got that verysame suit for our 11 month old nephew to wear to our wedding in May! He’s too little to be a ring bearer, but we couldn’t resist the cuteness of the wee suit. His mom is looking for a tiny real dress shirt for him to wear under it instead of the polo style shirt it comes with. Gotta love Target!

That IS really cute! I like your idea, of maybe having him wear the vest to the rehearsal and the suit to the wedding. He’s got such an adorable smile! He should be a model. ;)
