About Mrs. Bee

Crate & Barrel is offering a free copy of their 50 Things You Wish Someone Had Told You Before You Registered guide on their website. I don’t know how good it is, but I did just order a copy, and hey you can’t beat free! :P

meh, it’s aiite.

i sent for it and never got it. then i went to the registry event, where they gave it to me inside the box for the toasting flutes.

it’s a well put together book, but it’s not that helpful.

We went to the crate and barrel sunday engagement thing and tried to look at the book BEFORE we registered. They were really weird about giving it to us and we had to ask 5 different people. Why would we want the book after we registered? It’s a pretty book but quickly went into the recycling bin.

ditto what pp said. Pretty book and it’s free, but don’t expect any useful advice. It is like a catalog with no prices.

I’ll take a free pretty book… and actually I’m having it sent to the FI who lives in a different city. Get him thinking about what the registry is all about.

I also have it — it’s pretty to look at. The one thing we took away was the suggestion to register for open stock spoons as you go through those faster than anything else — cereal, soup, ice cream etc.

Had it, recycled it. You can get the same or better info online. It’s just an ad. What each couple “needs” to register for is different. And it’s not like C&B actually offers everything (appliances, tools, fine silver/china/crystal)… but they won’t tell you about those things they don’t sell… Registries are a nice topic to discuss with the married ladies (especially the old ones!) among your family/friends, who will LOVE to share their opinions and stories.
