He proposed exactly 1 year, 1 month and 6 days after our first date (it's the only part of his proposal speech that I remember), and we're planning long-distance from Los Angeles for a July wedding in my hometown of Monterey, CA. Hair Trial #2

March 28th, 2007 @ 4:15 pm by Mrs. Lemon

Wait… what happened to Hair Trial #1? Well, I guess you could say it’s why everyone should make sure they have at least one hair trial… and perhaps more if they are using someone who isn’t their normal hair stylist. During the first round, I came in with my oily unwashed hair and we tried our best to make the half-up hairdo work. And it looked nice… but it wasn’t as full and “bridal” as I wanted it to look. So, I went and picked up some clip-in hair extensions and went back to the salon for another trial.

This time, we washed my hair, filled it with mousse, dried it with a roller brush and then started to set it with heat. And here ’s the end result with the extra volume and length from the extensions:

Here are the extensions I bought at Olympia Beauty Supply. They matched my natural hair color perfectly, measured my head to fit them perfectly, and sewed three separate falls. Everyone in the salon was amazed at how great they looked, and my stylist cut into them to make sure they blended into my real hair. I think I’ll be using them for a long time after the wedding!

Hah hah! They look so funny when they are laid out! I do like your hair, though, especially the back, although you sort of spoiled it by showing what was back there. Don’t tell any one but us.

I love it! Your hair looks so beautiful. I want something like that for my hair, but since it’s such a departure from nature (I have really thick, fine tight ringlets) that it’s not going to be possible for my June wedding.

Kim! I cannot remember EVER seeing your hair that long. It looks great! But are you losing too much weight? You couldn’t stand to lose that much to begin with!

It looks pretty and way better than I thought hair extentions could ever look. Very natural, like A-list Hollywood, and I’d have never known you had a weave, as they say.

NOW FOR DEVIL’S ADVOCATE: I’m going to pose one query: I asked my DH about this last night and he was like, “Yuck, I wouldn’t want to reach into your hair on our honeymoon (bed, swimming, etc.) and feel those seams like you have a wig sewn into your hair.”

OK, so is your FI aware, and if so, is he ok with it? Are you keeping the extensions on your honeymoon?

Just a well-intended practical question, ladies, since the point of all this gussying up is so the DH, above all other people, is thrilled and turned on by his gorgeous babe.
