I got it. Over 10 months into wedding preparation I now understand.
Now that things are winding down, vendors are booked, and parties are complete, I’ve realized how much this wedding has taken over one year of my life. Initially my wedding intentions were to project fun (I love projects) for everyone including Mr. Apple, my maid of honor, family, and friends. But to my disapointment, no one enjoyed it as much as me. Hence, the introduction of Xanga then Weddingbee.
I think weddings can definitely become too media frenzied and we begin to lose focus. I got tunnel vision. I definitely did. I wanted to buy anything that was unique and cute - sometimes money did not matter.
I think after this weekend’s mini fiasco though, I’ve learned to throttle back a little and take time to enjoy Mr. Apple and my engagement. We spent some time the past couple of days catching up with his work updates, gardening together, and just holding one another. We haven’t done any wedding planning and it’s been really nice.
Have you reached this point yet? How long into wedding planning did it take? If so, how has it affected your wedding planning?
