Since I was little, I’ve been fascinated by the lush wedding bouquet you get to hold, and the boutonnieres that are so elegantly displayed on the lapel, all so lovely. This is what made my wedding flowers hard. I was torn between many choices.
First, there is the all white (or ivory) bouquet, pure and clean, it seemed to be the traditional choice. Really, though, what is tradition in this day and age?
This is what I had pictured for the white bouquet (roses, stephanotis and calla lilies):

So that bouquet looked sweet and classic, but what about the all red roses? That’s a nice one, too!

While stunning, the red roses seemed a bit too “formal” to me. I don’t know why, but it did. Then I figured, why not just do my wedding colors in a bright bouquet?

I love this. All of these flowers are what I’m having in the wedding. But what about the MOH? If I’m carrying that, I’d want something to distinguish us from each other (not counting the big white dress).
So our florist Laura came up with a mix of the white and bright. My bouquet will be a mix, and the MOH will have the bright one above. Mine will have all the same flowers as the MOH, but with the smattering of cream.

Of course, my bouquet will be rounded, like the top picture, and the cream will be better distributed. What do you think about the bride’s bouquet? How are you doing your bouquet?
