DIY - Cake Box Instructions

March 29th, 2007 @ 6:34 pm by Mrs. Raspberry

A while back I posted about the luncheon/tea that I am throwing for my bridesmaids the day before the wedding. Well, I’ve still been busy collecting ideas and when Mrs. Bee posted about Carolyne Roehm earlier today, I found this project which I think will be perfect for the petit fours at the tea!

Here are the instructions:
1. Cut three 1.6″ x 9″ strips of wrapping paper.
2. Cut two 6″ circle of colored tissue paper.
3. Place double-sided tape all the way around the outside of each box and secure wrapping paper to each tier.
4. Trim stems off of floral buds and dip each flower base into tacky glue and affix to the top of each box. Stack and glue into tiers as shown.
5. Cut a few leaves and glue them to the top tier of the cake before adding several flowers.
6. Remove base and insert tissue layers.
7. Fill with candies, tea cake or a small gift and affix place card to the base

So cute! And you could use these for the wedding also!

Those are really cute. I don’t totally get how they were made though–did you buy a wedding cake shaped box? If so where do you get something like that?

i think making and buying shows the effort from the bride….a lot of DIY shows that the wedding couple really appreciate the help from the helpers
