Rariteas

March 29th, 2007 @ 6:00 pm by Sales

Miss Violet first introduced us to blooming tea last August, when she told us she was planning on using them as her wedding centerpieces. Now Rariteas is offering 10% off orders of $25 of their blooming white teas through July 1st with code MSWEDDINGS. Their hand-tied tea leaves are wrapped around a dried flower blossom that bloom when hot water is added. It’s beautiful, practical, and affordable decor for any wedding event… and yes you can drink them!

This was so big in korea a few years ago. When I first saw it, I loved the glass tea kettle warmer. And the blooming tea flowers are so cute. My mom brought a whole tin of them from korea.

no, it’s not weird drinking it… it’s refreshing and soothing like any other tea, just prettier. my mom had a variety and my favorite was a yellow flower. there are so many different types of teas and the mixture of teas that this site has won’t turn the tea dark unless you put like alot of the tea bags in one cup, you know?

I was watching Marie Antoinette (Sofia Coppola version) a few days ago and Kirsten Dunst drinks this same tea with the blooming flower. I thought it sounded awesome, didnt know you could actually buy them!

I have never blogged before so please forgive me if this reponse is in bad form.
I would like to send the above 13 bloggers a couple of RariTeas Buds–I have learned quite a bit and smiled more at their comments.
We need to do a better job at addressing these concerns—it is reasonable and unclear how you drink a tea that in some cases does resemble a sea anemone….:-)
If any of you would like to try a couple…please feel free to contact me and I will alert customer service to send you some lovely ones at no charge. Warmest regards and thanks Martha Humphreys -Founder, CEO

Dear Elizabeth…

I have dried the teas after drinking them. They aren’t as vibrant but I put fragrant oils on them and let them obsorb the fragrance for about two days…and then them in a warm bath!!….the fragrance was lovely…I used lavender and sweet musk…they looked like floating candles and smelled delightful…some of the orange flower cam back to their original vibrancy.

I know they in china they pack silica around them and then lightly varnish them to use in dried arrangements….I am not that crafty…yet.

They actually hold there color longer if you use cold water to blossom them…it takes much longer to blossom but the color doesn’t leave the flower and the cool teas is delcious….You might have a more vibrant flower to dry if you blossomed them in cool water….I think I will give the silica a try this weekend…a few people keep asking about preserving the bloom.

Hope this helps…Martha Humphreys
