Who Doesn’t Like A Parade?

Every year, Monterey throws a big ‘ol “Backyard BBQ” party for the Fourth of July, complete with a parade, all-day activities and a big fireworks show over the bay at night. And thanks to my darling Dad, Mr. Lemon and I will be in the parade! My mom and dad will be driving his ‘37 Ford Sedan in the parade and celebrating their wedding anniversary, and we’ll be following along in my mom’s retro 2002 yellow Thunderbird only 3 days before our wedding. I’m not sure if we’ll have a cute little parade flag on the car… since I have no idea what it would say… “Future Lemons?” I mean… it would be appropriate for the yellow car? :)

Is anyone else planning other big events in the week leading up to their big day?

Well “we” are not, but FI has some busy weeks right before the wedding! He is ditching me for almost 3 of the 4 weeks right before the wedding. He has a football camp (he is a hs coach) one week, his bachelor party weekend in Vegas, and a conference in NOLA for a week. I told him he better get all his wedding tasks done before he goes naywhere. Luckily he is really helpful with all the wedding stuff so I know he wont leave me hanging.

we’re still planning ours, but even before we set a wedding date or a house i knew i wanted to do a fun movie night (wedding or romantic movie, of course) with anyone who could come (might only be limited to 20-somethings b/c we could otherwise get potentially 150 people at our house). my ideal would be to set up a sheet on the deck and have everyone watch outside, but since we’re in a townhouse it might be a bit rude to our neighbors. but indoors woudl be fun too. plus my FI’s uncle has a popcorn machine! and we’re goign to ask people to bring their fave snack. i always dreamed of having a “wedding weekend” even though it’s not a destination wedding.
