1. I am 25 and have never been drunk in my life. I do not drink, have not taken any drugs with the exception of medicine (which I never really take as well).
2. I am allergic to calamari. I did not find this out until last year.
3. I can’t fold my tongue into a taco like everyone else in the whole entire world. I believe BOTH your parents have to not be able to do this trait in order for you not to be able to. So sad…..
4. I have a butt fetish. I like to smack people on the butt. Even people I hardly know. I can’t help it. One day, someone will get terribly offended and I’ll have a sexual harassment law suit on my hands.
5. I can cry waterworks on command. It scares the hell out of my friends who insist that there’s no way I’m faking and try to get me to talk about my feelings for an hour.
6. I have clothes in my closet ranging from size 0 to 11. Yes, I have been both those sizes and everything in between.
Wow…..random……I love it!

This an exciting weekend for me because all of my wonderful bridesmaids (except one
) are coming in for a weekend of food, fun and an 80’s night. No one’s telling me what’s going to happen, but I’ve already been told that I’ll be kicked out of the room when all the bridesmaids arrive tonight so they can discuss what plans will be.
I do know that tomorrow night is going to be food, karaoke and a lot of dancing… to 80s music! I believe we’re going to a 80’s dance club, I can’t wait! I LOVE the 80’s! So I will definitely update with pictures and stories once the weekend is over, but I’d thought I’d share with weddingbee the things the girls have done so far.
As far as the shower - my sister (MOH) and my best friend from high school are already baking as we speak. We have on the menu: creme puffs (yes homemade), truffle brownies, white cake with strawberry frosting in heart shaped individual cups, chocolate molten cakes, lots of candies in glass jars with ribbons tied around them, and japanese snackies. My mom is cooking korean food: mandoo (dumplings), japchae (noodles w/veg and meat), kimbap (korean sushi), teriyaki chicken wings and I forget what else. But the cutest part of all is - they’re all in my kitchen right now and I hear them talking and sometimes whispering. ![]()
I got an email from our invitation designer Tara from Ephemera Letterpress with the final drafts of our wedding invitations.
*eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* (that’s my bridal squeal). They are gorgeous! Mr. Pearl and I looked at the final draft and were ready to send the final approval when we both stopped short. The RSVP address. It’s our current address…but we’re moving at the end of July when our lease is up (and the RSVP date is after that time).
In the words of Homer Simpson, “DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
When you give your RSVP address, be sure to think about future events (like if you plan to move). That could have caused a lot of unnecessary heartache!
For all you cherry blossom brides who are lucky enough to have scheduled your wedding during the 2 week period - which fluctuates - when they are in bloom, and for all you brides (including me) who wish we had the cherry blossoms for our weddings….
There was a post on lip treatments to make your lips weddinglicious a few months ago that caught my eye, because my lips are very sensitive. I don’t mean sensitive to touch and things like that, I mean really sensitive to sun and makeup. It’s a huge pain because my lips start puffing up, and the area around my mouth gets pink - looks like I just drank some cherry Kool-Aid. Anyway, I’m always on the lookout for something that works, and isn’t addictive.
Bath and Body Works was mentioned in the comments, and I decided to try it out. So, Mr. Kiwi and I headed over there after a hearty dinner at TGI Friday’s, and bought up a storm.
I decided to try a few of the products mentioned, like the C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine. It’s infused with mint to give you fresh breath. While it did hold true to it’s “shine” label, it was also very gloppy. Kinda thick and a little gross to apply. I don’t think it’s right for me, since I tend to lick off all the tasty mint goodness, and my lips end up looking the same. Before I lick it off, the shine to my lips is a little distracting.

Wish the Bluebells luck, guys, we have back to back vendor meetings from 10:30 to 5:00 tomorrow! That’s practically an entire workday!!! And it’s an hour and a half away from where we’ll be staying, so that really will end up being about as long as I’m usually away from home during the week. Sigh. But I can’t complain too much! Because we’re….
1) Getting free brunch from our caterer (yes I know we’re giving them a WHOOOLE lot more money than a brunch costs, but it’s a nice gesture nonetheless!) while we discuss all the food stuff & linens
2) Eating lots and lots of cake at the baker to choose which one we want. Soooo not complaining about this part.
And choosing a design too!
3) Hanging out at what is supposedly “The Best Coffee Shop In The Country” with our florist to work on flower details.
There’s actually a wee break between 2 and 3, but it’s not like we’ll want to go relax in a cafe during that time. Hehe. But we are hoping to try and find a dress for my mom during the interval (or at least figure out what type of dress she wants) so that should be fun too! Wish us luck!!!
Next week: Updates on my crazy weekend…plus my first dress fitting!!!

Every year, Monterey throws a big ‘ol “Backyard BBQ” party for the Fourth of July, complete with a parade, all-day activities and a big fireworks show over the bay at night. And thanks to my darling Dad, Mr. Lemon and I will be in the parade! My mom and dad will be driving his ‘37 Ford Sedan in the parade and celebrating their wedding anniversary, and we’ll be following along in my mom’s retro 2002 yellow Thunderbird only 3 days before our wedding. I’m not sure if we’ll have a cute little parade flag on the car… since I have no idea what it would say… “Future Lemons?” I mean… it would be appropriate for the yellow car?
Is anyone else planning other big events in the week leading up to their big day?
