About Mrs. Kiwi

He’s My Lobster

April 3rd, 2007 @ 12:51 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Since it seems like the readers like the little “Interesting things about me” posts, I thought I’d post a similar one. So, I have for you the 7 reasons Mr. Kiwi is the best person for me.

1.) He has hands softer than mine. Drives me crazy, especially because he works with his hands DAILY. Sooo smooth. Soo jealous, but feels so nice.

2.) He rubs my tush to help himself fall asleep. It’s very cute.

3.) He kisses me back even when he’s sleeping.

4.) Mr. Kiwi gives me cash for lunch, even when I don’t need it or ask for it.

5.) To de-stress, he needs to cuddle. I love it.

6.) Our first Christmas living together he bought me two pairs of shoes. Tennis shoes. Not only were they the right size, but they were my favorite colors, too!!

7.) He takes the dog out every morning and lets me sleep in.

This is just a few of the things he does that no other person ever did for me. This is how I know he’s special and is basically the person I’ll be with forever.

What does your FI/BF do that has never been done for you before?

Once when I was sick I threw up in bed and when I went to go take a shower, he took off the sheets and starting rinsing them by hand as well as sponging off the bed. This was only after 2 months of dating and when he saw that I was upset and embarrassed by what happened, he took me in his arms and told me that he was my protector and that I would never have anything to be embarrassed about while I was with him.

Once when my boyfriend was staying over, I became sick and threw up in bed. While I went to go take a shower to clean off, he took off the sheets and starting rinsing them by hand as well as sponging off the bed. This was only after 2 months of dating and when he saw that I was upset and embarrassed by what happened, he took me in his arms and told me that he was my protector and that I would never have anything to be embarrassed about while I was with him.

i don’t know if this really qualifies, but this is something that’s different about him than any other bf i’ve ever had…

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy, age 4 on love. i love hearing my FI say my name. it just sounds different coming off his lips. even when we were just friends, there was something different about the way he said my name. (that’s actually what let me know he was the one.) there’s someting tender and intimate, like he’s speaking all his love through saying my name.

He not only likes me making up lyrics about him to various tunes and jingles…he started to do them back to me. Its very cute.

When my cell phone rings, he jumps up to get it and bring it to me so I don’t have to get up.

He wraps me up in blankets so I don’t get cold.

He rubs my feet and he sit and cuddles me while we watch a marathon of “Whose Wedding is it Anyway?” Last weekend, he also went to a piano concerto with me, although that’s not his definition of a fun Saturday night out. And he always grabs my tush when I’m walking up the stairs.

lisa, i had a similar experience. oh man, i could have died. but he cleaned everything up kept reassuring me and even told me an equally embarassing story about his uncle to make me feel better. he didn’t even flinch and took everything in stride and pretty much took control of the situation since i was too embarassed to be any help.

but i knew he definitely the one after that.

my SO does all the things CS’s SO does too.

he gives me all the hugs and kisses in public that i want, i’m usually the one pulling away because i get embarassed.

he cooks dinner for me most nights AND does most of the cleanup.

every morning before he leaves the house, he says “have a wonderful day,” and every night before we drift off to sleep, he says “sweet dreams.”

he lets me be bossy and still tells me that i’m the sweetest girl in the world.

i think my dad secretly longs for a son and my two BILs live pretty far away. so he gets excited doing home improvement with us, but especially with my FI. my parents own their own business so my dad knows how to do commercial and residential construction stuff. my FI has gone to work with him on Sundays to help solder pipes. we’re redoing rooms in my parents’ house and he never complains when i get lazy and he’s stuck finishing the work. at MY house.

lately i have been having a rough time with a lot of gastric problems, and so i talk about it all the time. it doesn’t faze him at all and a couple of weeks ago i got tested for celiac disease so was staying away from gluten for awhile (luckily it was negative). that made me depressed b/c i LOVE all things wheat, and the next time he visited he baked me these amazing peanut butter chocolate flourless cookies. he said he felt bad that i couldn’t enjoy those things. he is SO sweet like that.

there are so many things he does that i cannot even count. but one thing that sticks out is that he takes care of me, really takes care of me. one time i threw up while we were drinking and eating and he carried me up 3 flights of stairs with me covered in puke and he even washed my jacket for me!!! i was mortified but he said he was just honored he had the oppurtunity to take care of me.

Wow, there are a ton of vomit-related posts! :) It’s like the Wedding Singer, when Drew threw up, and Adam Sandler smelled her hair to see if it stank. And then her FI was like, “Just don’t puke in the car, it’ll smell for weeks” or something like that.

And all your BFs and FIs are so sweet!! Keep ‘em coming!

My FI gets up at 7am with me every morning because I have troubles getting up in the morning. He only starts working at 10am and would only really have to get up at 8.30am but he is up with me every morning.
He used to also make me breakfast every morning but since I am trying to get in bridal shape and only eat high-fiber cereal for breakfast there isn’t much to do for him anymore. He still squeezes a lemon to make me lemon water every morning though.
He might not know it but I am very thankful for that.

FI knows I am swamped at work and doing more work than any one person should have to handle. After he gets out of work he comes to my office and helps me do little things around the office that I rarely have time for…he has done this so much the company has decided to put him on the payroll.

He also cooks me dinner 4 out of 5 nights and then tells my family (who pick on me constantly about my lack of cooking skills) that I made dinner and it was awesome.

Wow you guys, such sweethearts you’ve all got! This is a great exercise for me to remember why I’m marrying my fiance because even though I know he’s The One, I am going through a commitment-phobic phase of back-to-back freakouts about the wedding. Haha. So here is why I love my fiance:

When he knows I’m having a really stressful day (he always knows how my day is going, because he calls me at work to say hi), he always has dinner ready on the table for me when I get home.

If I’m suffering a bout of insomnia, he lights candles in the bedroom and gives me a full-body massage with warmed up oil. There’s no surer way to get me to fall to sleep relaxed.

He plans random surprises for me for no particular reason. A few weeks ago, he got up ahead of me in the morning (I get up at 6:30 am, he usually gets up around 10) to make me breakfast and pack my lunch for work, so that I would get to sleep in half an hour later.

He buys me silly little presents (nothing expensive) that he knows I will love even though they’re little things. Once it was a handheld cheese grater because the big one was clumsy and driving me crazy.

He rubs my feet while watching my favourite TV show with me.

He acts really proud of himself when he remembers to do something I like without being asked, like setting up my favourite shows to tape or washing and folding the towels. It’s kind of funny that he’s proud for remembering to do chores, but he’s so cute about it I can’t help but find it sweet!

Here are some examples about my fiance out of a million:

1. He makes up cheesy lyrics about us on the spot from random songs we hear on the radio while we’re in the car (they’re not the best lyrics but I love the sentiment!)

2. He calls me every morning before I go to work to say “Have a good day. I love you.”

3. He buys me flowers when I least expect it.

4. (my favorite) Whenever he goes out with his buddies and gets drunk, he calls me in his drunken state, and tells me that I’m the love of his life. (People are most honest when they’re drunk!)
