6 Random/Weird Things About Me:

April 4th, 2007 @ 3:23 pm by Mrs. Emerald

(In no particular order)

1. I have seen David Copperfield perform live 6 times! Yes, even at the risk of sounding like a dork, I used to be a big fan (throughout the 90’s).

2. I always eat things with a crust from the outside to the inside… e.g. with sandwiches, I eat around it in an even, circular fashion. I also eat my pizza crust first.

3. I have a bad memory in terms of remembering names, faces, dates, etc.

4. I am a closet germaphobe. I wash my hands constantly and refuse to touch things like escalator handrails. It makes me happy when grocery stores provide Lysol wipes to clean the shopping cart handle.

5. I read Gone With the Wind at age 11 (and liked it!).

6. I have had the same teddy bear on my bed since I was 5 years old. His name is Squeeky. I think he’s only been washed once… surprisingly this doesn’t bother my inner germaphobe. I don’t want to ruin him!

My friend slept with David Copperfield. No joke. Every time he is in town, she gets free tickets. :)

I think it’s hilarious how many GWTW fans there are. It’s kinda neat to find some common bonds with other bees and readers!

In relation to #2:

I also eat my sandwiches outside in, all around the edge. This is because this is my least favorite part. I eat my pizza from the point to the crust though, because the crust is my most favorite part!

I am the same as you and Jennifer. I eat from the crust in - also because the crust is my least favorite part. Ha.

I’ll fess up to #6–when I go to my parents’ house (which is pretty often, since my uni is only ~150 miles from home, and the wedding is there) I still sleep with Teddy. His nose is all squished into his face because I sleep ON him, and have since I was a tiny baby. He hasn’t been washed since that time I tossed him into the dishwater when I was about 4 :-D

a safe way to wash your stuffed animals is to throw them in the laundry machine on gentle in a pillowcase. tie the pillowcase closed and use gentle soap.. you can put them in the dryer but make sure they’re not make of the plastic that melts with heat. it’ll probably take a while for them to dry thoroughly since stuffed animals are so thick. but don’t worry, i’ve done this to my stuffed animals and you just fluff them back up. they’ll smell really good :)

ps - i’m also a germaphobe. i wash my hands at least 10-15 times a day, especially if i’m preparing food. i hate pumping gas and holding shopping carts. but i hardly ever dust because i hate doing it.

You can put Squeeky in a plastic bag & into the freezer overnight to kill dust mites.

I was also going to mention the pillowcase washing tactic! It’s what I do with my stuffed animals from my SO that I love so much. I don’t recommend drying them though. I think they end up much nicer and dry better air drying. :)

I eat everything from the outside in, too! My fiance laughs at me for it all the time.
