Contest: Wedding Flowers

April 5th, 2007 @ 3:19 pm by Contests

Mrs. Bee here.

It’s a pretty quiet day here on weddingbee, so I thought we’d do a little contest since we haven’t had one in some time. :)

Roses have always been the traditional wedding flower. But more exotic blooms like peonies and orchids have become increasingly popular in recent years.

Tell us - what flowers are you using in your wedding?

Comment below, and one random winner will receive a Mrs. Bee character t-shirt!

Non traditional: Gerbera Daisies in Fuschia (dark pink), light pink, and white.
Corsages / boutineers/centerpieces/bouquets- everything- are gerberas. The only gerbera daisy in the whole lot that is not one of the colors listed above is a red one- that my fiance’s 92 year old grandfather will be wearing. He’s French Canadian and loves red. And we love him so much - he needs to stand out like the dapper man he is!

Since my wedding is taking place during Washington DC’s Cherry Blossom festival, we are using branches of cherry blossoms as our centerpieces. But I’ll be carrying a bouquet of lily of the valley. I just love the scent.

green cymbidium orchids, hydrangea, no white or cream roses because they symbolize death in Chinese culture, some kind of berries, and then a flower that has seeds, at my mother’s request.

My bouquet is all ivory and the girls are a pale pink. The flowers are roses, peonies, and rhinoculus with some other smaller hyperacomb (sp?) berries mixed in for the girls. My bouquet will be all roses and peonies. I am also going to look into the tulip hybrid posted on weddingbee earlier today!
