Dance Lessons - CHECK

April 6th, 2007 @ 11:33 am by Mrs. Raspberry

Remember my post about Mr. Raspberry’s lack-of-doing in the wedding planning, well I have an interesting update…

Our Dance Lessons are checked off! As I posted about earlier, this was one of his tasks. So, yesterday morning, he called me frantic to tell me WE forgot to do something very important that morning… I was totally puzzled, because I didn’t feel like I had anything looming to take care of.

Well that important thing was the registration for dance lessons. They opened up at 8am, and he left for work and called me from the car to see if I could log on with his information to book us for the class. Let me remind you - this was one of his very few tasks! GRRR… I was not a happy camper as I then could not find the website to register. In the end, IIIIII got it all taken care of and we are all set to dance our Wednesday nights away!

So, my frustration in the wedding planning continues. I just think boys don’t understand the level of stress it adds to our lives when there are still 8000 things to do before the wedding and they continually forget… just like he forgot to call the tailor in Thailand this weekend to confirm his tux is being made!

I love him to pieces and he was totally sweet about forgetting and made it up to me by being very sweet and taking care of a bunch of stuff in my garden all week.

Just a little venting…

I completely understand. FI doesn’t understand that I have a really long to do list, and his is very short. He says that he’ll take care of it, but if I have to keep reminding him of something, I’m still technically the one taking care of it.

So frustrating. Hang in there! Enjoy your dance lessons!

I know what you’re going through. My FI volunteered for two things when we first got engaged TWO YEARS ago: the music and his outfit. And with all that time, I still have to take charge and babysit him on his two assignments

And when I bug him about it, he says, “none of the other guys I know did anything for their weddings”. Good for them. But I expect more out of my man.

my bf has a tendency to wait a bit before doing things while i like to get them done as soon as possible. i tell myself he’s teaching me patience but that doesn’t keep me from getting frustrated. i’ve gotten better though and he’s starting to get the hint when i “check in” about things the second time around. lol. hopefully by the time we start planning our wedding we’ll be near the same page.

I totally understand where you are coming from. My FI seems to think that he can wait until the last minute to order his tux, but I keep telling him he is sadly mistaken. He claims that it will take only a week for the shop to get it. Oh well, we had a discussion about it, and he’s going to get measured in a few weeks.

Miss Raspberry, I need your help! I am also a DC bride and am trying to get my fiance to arrange some dance lessons! Who did you use and did you like them? Thanks!!

ohh- ohh! I’d love to know where you’re taking lessons. My FI is planning on going along with this, as long as I take care of booking them.
Thanks!!!

We are taking the lessons through the Arlington County Rec Dept. I forget how much they were - either 200 or 400 for lessons for both of us until June (every Wed.)
