My favorite celeb. wedding was Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s. They had all the money in the world for a grand wedding, yet they chose to have a realistic, down to earth wedding with a budget. (Like us normal folks!

Julia Roberts. The whole thing about running off with close friends and family to have just a fun party is exactly what I wanted. We’re doing it a little more traditional than what she did in New Mexico but we’re still having a smaller wedding at a coastal restaurant in Rhode Island that I’m hoping will be just a fun, kick up your heels time for everyone.

Jackie Kennedy Onassis on her wedding day with JFK. She wore a simple, yet classic off the shoulder dress with her grandmother’s veil and her trademark pearl strand. their outdoor wedding had all the traditions with timeless beauty and class. All eyes were on them as they were America’s royalty.

Favorite celeb wedding would be Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. She threw a wedding with the idea it chic and non traditional. Even though she regrets her black dress now, she choose to enjoy the day like any other party.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. I remember getting up at 4am to watch it live. So what if it didn’t work out?

This is kind of random but mine was Kevin James and Steffiana De La Cruz. They had McDonald’s hamburgers in their buffet and a cake topper with the bride dragging the groom. It reminded me that we should have things at our wedding that we want and that make us happy, not just things people say we need. (We ended up getting the same cake topper and it still makes me smile when I see it!)

Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier………..Grace Kelly was the epitome of glamour and sophistication. Her wedding reflected her innate style and she proved that elegance was also about simplicity.

Princess Di is clearly the ultimate in celebrity wedding icons.

But I also loved Christina Aguilera’s because it was at The French Laundry–my favorite restaurant!

And Sandra Bullock nailed the spirit of what a wedding should be–true to the couple, and true to a real celebration with family and friends.

My favorite wedding was Tiffani Amber Thiessen to Brady Smith. (Growing up, I always wanted to be as cool as Kelly Kapowski on Saved By the Bell!) Her wedding in 2005 was very simple, yet elegant. It was at private home, and I thought represented her natural and simplistic beauty.

I second Tiffani Amber Theissen. I remember hearing that she or her hubby had to leave the reception on a beer run! It seemed to be very “them”.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony I love that it was a suprise wedding. The guest thought they were going to a bbq, meaning no fancy dresses and black ties, just a nice quaint backyard wedding (though of course Lopez was wearing a Vera Wang gown)

Did you see the pics from Elizabeth Hurley’s wedding? It was in India. The costumes, the dancing, the feasts…it must have been one kick-ass wedding!

She was so beautiful and graceful.

Rob and Marisol Thomas. It was an outdoor wedding with a beautiful backdrop of vines and candles in hurricane shades with rich jewel tone flowers. She looked absolutely beautiful in a simple dress (I think it was Vera Wang but I’m not sure). Then Edwin McCain sang “I’ll Be” at their reception for them. They both looked so happy!

when i first heard about julia roberts’ secret wedding (to daniel moder), i thought she was SO COOL! from what i understand, the guests didn’t even know that they were attending a wedding! good for her for having an intimate ceremony without the obligatory big-name celebrities and paparazzi.
another wonderful touch was that guests were asked to bring a plant to be planted in the special wedding garden on the ranch.
i would do something like that, but my mom would kick my butt! haha!

Johnny Cash and June Carter. Such a great love story, and when they finally got married it was all about love- a red and white ceremony and rings engraved with the words “Me to my Love and my Love to Me”

I LOVED Avril Lavigne’s wedding… To me, she just looked gorgeous, and everything seemed so classic. I like looking at celebrity wedding photos now and then, but for some reason I was just drawn to hers! Just beautiful.

Oh, also loved the “Deryck picked Avril” and “Avril picked Deryck” picks… too cute!

Grace Kelly & Prince Rainier, without a doubt. Their wedding is the ultimate in traditional classic elegance & understated opulence — it also happens to be the inspiration for my wedding so I must admit that I’m a tad biased! ;)

I can still remember my parents letting me stay up and watch the wedding of Princess Di and Prince Charles. I was only 10 but I knew that their wedding was absolutely amazing. I even had a souvenir tea tin with their wedding picture on it to hold my most precious momentos.

I currently love the idea that Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney had in choosing her neice and 6 daughters of her friends to form a large group of flower girls instead of having bridesmaids.

I really love Avril Lavigne’s dress, but it’s a Vera Wang so obviously it went straight into the “not possible” section of my wedding. I really am drawn to light pink color themes, and I am very glad I switched my colors to chocolate and pink, from purple. I love purple, too, but I found it way too difficult to find the right kind of purple decor without making things look gawdy.

I like the idea with Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney, too, but I think if I were her, I would have had the 6 flower girls in addition to the bridesmaids because I think there should be some sort of bridesmaids for the bride. Unless she didn’t have any sisters, close friends, etc.

Jessica and Nick was another favorite. Nick Lachey is my big celebrity crush, and I was really shocked when they broke up. I love the look on Nick’s face when they showed Jessica walking in and him seeing her for the first time, he looked like a little boy, just so excited and overwhelmed by how beautiful she looked! My fiance and I will have to see each other before the wedding (even though I really don’t want to, it would be too complicated) but I think if at all possible it’s a great thing to do.

This isn’t a nomination, but this post made me think of my LEAST favorite celeb wedding: Emilie de Ravin of LOST. Poor thing. I love that girl and every time I see those JC Penney ads of her “perfect wedding” I think of how it ended after only 6 months, right before her Penney’s ad campaign started. Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.

I think my current fave is Avril’s wedding. Though I don’t really like her, I think her wedding was really elegant with the classic white and red and you can really tell she and Deryck are in love. I also thought the picks were really cute, like Natalie mentioned. I’ll have to think of something creative and “us” like that for my future wedding. ;)

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James. From walking down the aisle to the recording of Sandra’s mother, to Jesse’s wedding band made by Sandra herself, this wedding had so many personal touches. Moreover, it truly reflected the couple — fun-loving and free spirited! Who else would show up in a Monster Truck but these two??

I also love that as individuals, they are so very different, but as a couple, they mesh into this entity that is too right for words!

For me, it has been Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier. This couple was no celebrity flash-in-the-pan, here today, gone tomorrow, but a true historic icon that married together all the elements a world-power couple could wish for in their marriage, on a day set apart with marks of the solemnity appropriate for the occasion of exchanging their vows.

Why this couple? First, Grace Kelly had a powerful career and life of her own before she got married (a little older than most brides for her time) and is not known only for becoming a princess by marriage and is not defined only through her husband. Second, it was a royal state wedding — so everything was done in the best of taste, highest quality, and faultless protocol, yet all of this was enhanced by timeless Hollywood style and attention to detail and publicity (e.g., her gown was provided by the movie studio, designed for the occassion, knowing that brides would be influenced by that gown for generations). Third, despite all the other trappings, it was a deeply religious wedding true to their personal faith and traditions (something we see less and less of today, but for me and my now-husband, this was very important).

For my wedding I kept my dress a surprise — It is a modern take on her gown, which the NYC designers confided was inspired by Grace Kelly’s gown. The bodice is form-fitted yet modest because tailored French alencon lace covers the back, arms, and shoulders, and it has a high silk cumberbund. As I walked down the very long cathedral aisle on my wedding day, filled with emotion and the bass of the organ music, about the time my husband’s face finally came into view, I could hear guests whisper “Grace Kelly” as they nodded in approval and scrambled for their cameras.
