My bridal shower in St Louis was Saturday, and boy was it fun!!! I actually had a better time than I’d hoped. Of course, I knew it would be very nice, but I didn’t know I’d have such a great time. ![]()
All of Mr. Blueberry’s female family members were there, plus my mom, and two of his mom’s friends. The shower was held at Mr. Blueberry’s aunt Karen’s house, and was hosted by her, her daughter Lynn, her daughter-in-law Kristie, and Mr. Blueberry’s mom’s cousin Carol, and Carol’s daughter Katie.
I know you guys like pictures more than my ramblings, so with no further ado…
(all pictures were courtesy of Mr. Blueberry’s cousin Katie)
The pile of unopened presents–I was almost embarrassed by how many there were–everyone was so kind and generous!

Me lookin’ hott. But it was *really* cold for St Louis in April, so I wore a jacket most of the time:

Mr. Blueberry’s sister Laura, playing with Louie the puppy. Their cousin Lynn had just adopted him, after her brother found him on the side of the road! Such a calm and mellow puppy. ![]()

Me, Mr. Blueberry’s mom, and my mom. And yes, that silly face was quite deliberate. ![]()

Aunt Adele and Grandma–it was so sweet of them to come out just for me. ![]()

Love these plates. I mentioned wanting to add “Smith” under each one. ![]()

Then it was time for games! There was a “How much do you know about Miss Blueberry?” game which my mom won (of course!). Then a “How much do you know about Mr. Blueberry?” And would you believe his sister won that? So cute. ![]()
Here I am, telling the answers to my quiz:

(gotta have wine handy for that task, y’know!)
Then it was presents time! Of course, Mr. Blueberry’s mom had to put a bow on her head. ![]()

Even though my aunt couldn’t make it to the shower, she sent some lovely kitchen stuff that she sewed for us:

We got our pink hand mixer! And pink heart-shaped silicone cake pan.

Me digging into the gift from my mom. She told me before the shower that she got me something I’d wanted for a looong time, but I couldn’t think of what that could be:

And then, of course! When I was little I would always play with her ostrich feather dusters, and I used to talk about how I wanted some for my wedding. So she got me two! ![]()

(I was demonstrating, I believe)
I also got the Flylady book from her:

I can’t wait to start reading it!
Lynn and Louie, hard at work on my bow bouquet:

Mr. Blueberry’s mom got us one 4-place setting of our everyday dishes! Yay!!!

Laura gave us this. Yes, it’s a cake pan shaped like a castle. Mr. Blueberry really wanted it, so I’m glad he got it. ![]()

Lynn got our everyday glasses. I *love* these glasses–one of my favorite things on the registry!

We got lots of other really really great stuff, too–I was overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity!
Finally, a few more pictures of everybody…
Katie, Mr. Blueberry’s mom, Karen, Margaret (one of Mr. Blueberry’s mom’s friends), and me!

Me and Katie. This girl rocks! (great name, too
)

(wow I look horrible in that picture. lol)
Me and my mom. I don’t know if she was *actually* trying to eat my hair, or what.
hehehe

One down, one to go! I can’t wait until next Saturday in KC!
Aww, Miss Blueberry! It looks like you had a great shower! And such nice gifts too… I love the gift from your mom! Cute!!
