A Huge Sneak Peek

April 10th, 2007 @ 6:07 pm by Mrs. Plumeria

So originally, I wasn’t planning to post our pre-wedding bridal portraits up for all to see. But then, after thinking about it a little bit, the most important person has already seen me in my dress, so why should I care if others do as well? :) Consider this post a sneak peek to the actual wedding day… at least wardrobe-wise.

Our portraits were taken by our wedding photographers, Garrett and Matt of GB Photographers. This was our second time having a photo shoot with them, the first being for our engagement photos, and it was really like meeting with friends this time around — we had a blast! The time spent with them was fun and relaxed, and the photos really show it. They suggested going to Fort Point, a historic landmark dating back to the Civil War, located at the very base of the Golden Gate Bridge. This partially hidden building is gorgeous, with amazing brick arches, spiraling staircases, and historical pieces to view throughout its rooms.

[Above photos from Fort Point website]

Fort Point might not seem like your typical location for a bridal portrait shoot, but that’s what I loved about the idea to start — there’s a certain beauty in the contrast between the subjects and the background that Garrett and Matt captured skillfully. And after Garrett sent back over 300 of our photos from that day, that fact has only been magnified, a million times over! Here’s a few for your enjoyment…

Goosebumps = a tribute to super clear photography, I suppose! … I was freezing! Despite its sturdy brick walls, the fort is windy and extremely cold. If you plan a sight-seeing visit, a strapless dress should definitely NOT be your attire of choice.

And… I got to wear my wedding band for a day!

The roof of the fort has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge…

And… one more location, suggested by Garrett and Matt based on what they’ve gotten to know about us over the past several months. These images are so indicative of us, and they were SO fun to take! ;) We love Target!!

Awww you guys are adorable… and your pictures look amazing– I too am a big Target (pronounced tar-jeh hahah) fanatic! I love that place… you should turn these pictures in to “trash the dress”– even though you weren’t trashing, but it looks like you guys had a blast with your session!

although i haven’t decided yet, my FI has been going with me to help me pick out my weddin dress. he’s so good too! he’ll suggest something that i never even considered and it will turn out to be the best fit for me.

Glad you got the opportunity to take these and hope this means you are free to enjoy more of your reception since it’s less time-out for photos.

You look beautiful! Fort Point reminds me of the field trip we took there when I was in elementary school (the Bay Area is ab fab). You guys just look supremely gorgeous and are really making me consider doing some sort of post-wedding pictures (because thinking about fitting them in pre-wedding makes me hyperventilate from stress a little bit)!

the target ones are sooo cute! i was wondering which Target was this? because i don’t recall any Targets near me that has those palm trees.

32.
Miss Plumeria says:

It’s the Target in Berkeley. Sorry I don’t know exactly where. We followed Garrett and Matt from SF to this Target, which they had scouted out the day before to get ideas. I fell asleep on the way there, which was the cause for much teasing by Mr. Plumeria and the two photographers, who’d seen me drooping over in my seat — and my dress — in their rear view mirror. :) Good times!
