Dream A Little Dream?

April 10th, 2007 @ 2:05 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

I think “woman of my dreams” has been taken quite literally in the case of a London man and woman. According to this article, a man dreamt of a phone number and decided to send a message to that number the next day. The message read “Did I meet you last night?”

Well, they hadn’t met before, but when she received the message, she was intrigued. Messages were exchanged and finally they met. After dating for quite a long time, the couple has married. The woman, Michelle Kitson said, “It was really weird but I was absolutely hooked. My mum and dad kept saying ‘But he could be an axe murderer’, but I knew there was something special about it.”

How cool is that? Do you think there is something called “fate” that brought you and your fiance together?

Hubby and I had similar acquaintances from college. After college, everyone moved to the NYC area while he moved to Philly. So we thought we would probably not see him anymore due to the distance. Who wants to drive two hours just to join distant acquaintances for drinks, etc.?

Well, one of my friends, J, whom hubby also knew moved to an apartment near me. J threw a housewarming party and invited everyone under the sun. Despite the distance, hubby decided to accept the invite and that’s where we re-met :)

He could have just stayed in his neck of the woods like he always did. Lucky for me he didn’t. That was the start of our NYC - Philly romance.

absolutely. after the bf and i failed to meet while on campus for 3 years, all it took was for me to finally decide to join a blogring and stumble upon his page and bringing us together. 2 years and counting! i know, that had we met while we were still in school, i would have totally passed over him and here he is the man of my dreams. there’s a reason for everything.

OK, so don’t think I’m crazy, but here’s the story:
After my mom died, I had a dream that she and I were in a car driving to the house of my future husband’s parents. It was a brown house. My FI’s parents’ house– brown. Coincidence? I think not.

MJ, that is an amazing story!! Honestly, I don’t believe in coincidences. I totally believe in fate.

I’m not crazy either! Here’s my story:
The first real conversation (beyond Hi, I’m new here, etc) that I had with the man who would become my man, he talked about martial arts and self defense, and I thought that he was just a really strange guy who reminded me more of my eccentric uncle than anyone else.
That night, I dreamed of my wedding, and guess who the groom was? I saw him differently from then on and the rest was history

I guess I’m stepping out on a limb, but I don’t believe in fate. I really think we chose our own lives, especially our mates. My FI and I have discussed this before, and we both agree that we don’t think there’s “one person” for everyone. Maybe part of that has to do with the history of our relationship, and due to hardships and long distance, we really did have to consciously CHOOSE each other. I am confident that if we hadn’t met, there would have been someone else out there for him, and someone else out there for me. I hope that doesn’t sound weird or like we don’t love each other, because I couldn’t imagine loving another person more (or meeting someone more compatible for me). I guess to each her own.

Oh man, this was my fantasy when I was single … I used to think, if only someone could just hand me a piece of paper with the phone number of the person I was destined to be with, that would make everything so much easier! But over time I’ve come to agree with BA - I now believe that when we are ready, we find the love that we want or need. After all, something made that British guy gutsy enough to follow up on his dream!
