He proposed exactly 1 year, 1 month and 6 days after our first date (it's the only part of his proposal speech that I remember), and we're planning long-distance from Los Angeles for a July wedding in my hometown of Monterey, CA. I have a passion for all things "cool, cute and quirky" and I enjoy video games, reading blogs (WeddingBee, trashy celeb, consumer & political) and crafting in my spare time, if I have any!

Our Dishes Are Gone!

April 10th, 2007 @ 12:04 pm by Mrs. Lemon

Yup… all of them! I went to edit our Crate & Barrel registry and I did a double take only to see that all of our dish sets were bought… ALL OF THEM!

I rushed to tell Mr. Lemon, who gave me the calm and collected answer of, “Oh I know.”

“What?!? You know?!?! Who, who???” I stammered back at him.

It turns out that two of our guests, who will be unable to make it to the wedding, decided that they wanted to beat the registry rush and buy something that would really help us out. Wowzers! I guess I just didn’t ever expect to get such a large gift from someone… let alone so far before the wedding!

I’m suddenly beginning to realize how much of a wreck I’m going to be for the wedding, since a simple registry purchase swept me with emotion. Just wait until I have to thank all of the guests for being at the wedding… oh boy…

Keep ahold of those happy feelings. It will help make up for the many guests who fail to RSVP, who no-show after you’ve paid for their meals, who invite extra people, who order lobster for their 3-year-old, or never think of sending a card or gift.

I dido your sentiment. I received $1,000 plus some Tiffany’s tumblers and beer mugs from my mom’s friend, $300 from my mom’s old boss who I only met once, my uncle is planning on giving me at least $1,000, and my dad’s friend bought us an All Clad frypan and saucepan. My mom and I have been deliberating on what to get these folks as thank you gifts….I am very appreciative but stressed out thinking of what to give in return.
