He proposed after dating just two months - crazy, I know, but 2 years later, here we are, still crazy in love :-). We are having not one, but TWO weddings and TWO receptions in one weekend - American-style and Vietnamese-style - in Dallas, Texas, where I was born and raised!
About Mrs. Plum

Venue: Arlington Hall at Lee Park

Located in beautiful uptown Dallas, this venue is very popular with Dallas brides. The actual site consists of a main house and an adjoining park - giving brides the option of having an indoor and/or outdoor wedding.

For indoor weddings, their largest room only has an approximate capacity of 100ish - it can accommodate slightly larger parties, but not for a seated dinner. Their exclusive caterer is the Mansion at Turtle Creek (the last I checked), which provides fabulous food from one of the best restaurants in the area (check out a sample menu from their restaurant here).

If you wish to have a larger event, you only have one option - having the wedding outdoors and a tented reception. For those of you leaning towards the tent option, you should know that because the venue sits on a hill, it requires not only the rental of a tent, but special decking and flooring to make the tent level, which can mean big $$$. One of the estimates I received on a tent for this particular venue was around $14k only for decking and tent (not to mention, you’ll need to rent the a/c units and hire a lighting designer/event designer to do the draping). For me, that was a dealbreaker. However, with that being said - the tented weddings here are absolutely breathtaking - endless possibility and definitely unique.
