Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

Venue Tryout Part 2

April 11th, 2007 @ 5:43 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

After the Queen Mary was vetoed, we decided to look elsewhere. The next place was Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach, CA.

The Tivoli Terrace has a romantic French garden setting. It’s a two story building with a top terrace that holds the chapel, and a lower level for the reception area. The pricing ranges from $50 - $110 pp - you can see what services the quoted prices include here. April, May, June, September and October are the busy months, but there are seasonal specials: from November through March 15th, you will get an extra ten dollars off per person for Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Some pictures of Tivoli Terrace:

We loved it here, but it was a little bit too much money, and really far away from our place. This led to us finding something local - our Radisson. happy02

There is also a Tivoli Too, in the same setting as Tivoli Terrace. Tivoli Too has a Spanish setting, with a lot of terra cotta decor. Also part of the Tivoli groups is the Hacienda - another Spanish style venue. All three locations have beautiful floral accents and lovely greenery. Great choices if you’re in Orange County!

That’s where my brother got married in 2003! It was so beautiful, and having their ceremony and reception all at once place was what made me look for the same when I started looking at venues - it just made so much sense. I remember the dance floor part being covered, but their evening “garden” reception was a little chilly even with those heaters on! I have nothing but amazing memories (and equally amazing pictures) from this place. It really was beautiful for a beautiful couple (who just welcomed their first beautiful baby :) )
