Our Invitations Are Here!

April 12th, 2007 @ 12:45 pm by Mrs. Pumpkin

Since we live in a different city from the woman who designed our invitations, we had only seen pictures of them, but they are lovely and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I think that they will really set a nice tone for the day. We went with the popular square envelope style with card inserts, a card for each piece of information. Now we just have to put them all together, write in the ferry times on each “details” card, put our personalized stamps on the reply envelopes and the outer envelope and send them out! This is a big step, right? This feels big to me.

Here are some pictures:

Details Card

The Details card folds up so that it fits in the brown envelope slot. I think they are so pretty and hopefully our guests will love them too! Everyone loves getting a pink envelope in the mail - I don’t care who you are, that’s exciting! And, I couldn’t be happier about how our personalized stamps look on the outer envelope. :)

Miss Pumpkin, those are beautiful! I love how all the pieces have a slightly different style but coordinate so well. Would you mind sharing the vendor’s name/info? Congrats on your big step!

Absolutely! Our designer is Melissa Chapman and she is also our photographer! Her website is http://www.melissachapmandesigns.com and she has pictures of her invitations on there and then a photo blog in the Details tab that shows her photography as well. Those of you who scrapbook may also know her as a former Creating Keepsakes Hall of Famer and she is currently a member of the Scrapbooks Etc. design team. She is extremely talented and has been great to work with so far.

Those are beautiful! I know what you mean when you say it feels big. Our invitations went out a week or so ago (for June 16th as well) and we are already getting so many responses! Def. a big step!

I agree, invitations are a big step. Ours just went out a week ago (we are getting married June 8), and two days after they went out I had two responses. It’s amazing! And your invitations are so beautiful!

Ok, talk to me about your personalized stamps…how did you get them? How much are they? Are they just the normal USPS make-you-own stamps?

Thanks,

Girl

Those are really pretty! Your guests will love them, and I think they appreciate the effort when a really nice invitation arrives. And you’re right about the envelopes–I’m very glad I customized my invitations to have matching butter yellow envelopes, as so many people have commented to me in the last week that they loved getting a pretty yellow envelope in the mail. It’s such a surprise among all the junk mail and bills.

Miss Pearl says:

Very pretty! I’m jealous of your pink outer envelopes…our invites could only get ivory outer envelopes, but I did get a pink inner envelope, so it’s a minor victory :)

I was showing your pretty invitations to someone else, and she asked me what an “honour bar” was. I don’t know, in the context of a wedding. What is it?
