About Mrs. Bee

Shim and Sons

April 12th, 2007 @ 10:58 am by Mrs. Bee

My favorite blog of the month is Shim and Sons! Sally is the mother, crafter, and stationery designer behind Shim and Sons. We’ve featured some of her flickr photos in the past, but I only recently discovered that she had a such a gorgeous blog filled with tons of crafty goodness. Sally is currently working on opening a shop that I’m super excited about! :)

Meanwhile I wanted to share this image from a Donna Hay magazine she posted on her blog.

Lollipop flower cupcakes in mini buckets! Perfect as centerpieces for a children’s table, or even as a fun little treat for a garden or spring themed wedding. :)

Fsil made those bugs with the pretzel wings for easter. She does a variation of that each year. She also makes baby ducks using yellow vanilla icecream.

Dunno about this for a wedding… too reminiscent of the stuff my mom used to bring to my class in elementary school for holiday and birthday parties…

For a retro bridal shower cake — remember those 1970s doll cakes baked in a big deep bowl? You flip the cake out of the bowl, insert a Barbie doll up to her waist and decorate the whole thing like a bridal gown (including decorative frosting over her torso for the bodice)? Good times!

I’m addicted to her blog. I love her sense of clean modern lines. It was kinda funny weird that she likes to take pictures of food too. She’s also very sweet and kind. I’m excited about her online shop.
